Epsilons
Talking of strange things written in dead waxs', i've got a Nat Hall with some strange writing on it, says something like 'Russ Smith'...never heard of that pressing plant before

Epsilons
As strange as this may sound, there are different presses of Sidney Hall & Shirley Edwards. I've got a Sidney Hall that's Bell Sound stamped & has totally different deadwax markings to a copy that I recently sold that wasn't Bell Sound stamped. The sound was very slightly different between the two as well. Same thing with the Shirley Edwards, it was a while back but I sat here holding both copies & thinking how strange they were different

Danny Monday , Boot Or Not
I was just comparing the white & black label Danny Monday boot to the original & just realised the boots have been pressed by using the original pressing plates. Only difference is the boots have a raised run in. Always thought the sound quality was good on these boots, so that's the reason. Wonder who found the plates? Hope this helps pottsy

Zz & Co - Gettin Ready For The Getdown
Hello Cunnie, The deadwax info on the original is : MRP/FR--JB-51679-GRFTG then a 25mm gap, then a letter B encased by a letter C. Under the label there is a slightly raised 4mm wide ridge that passes through the large middle sail on the ship logo. Hope this helps pottsy ps can anyone help with any info on the reissue of the VISE 45 on Chocolate Mama Records. Been told they don't have the address round the bottom of the label. Would be interested to know the markings in the deadwax.

Very Nice Choon
This record always brings a smile to my face face when I play it. I was doing Luton record fair once, my son who I guess was probably 10 or 12 at the time used to load & unload the van to earn his pocket money. He'd just got my sales table set up & went for a walk around to see what was about. He then came running back to the table with a stone cold mint Caesars - Girl I Love you in his hand, sticks it on my player, just as the intro kicks in he mumbles 'that's the one'. he then legs it ! Two minutes later comes back & says 'that was ok for £6 weren't it dad?' Blimey, yes, can I have it ? 'No, but i'll go back & get you one, he's got another two !"

U.k. Records Wanted
But Pete, the first 2 only book at twenty five quid each in last years U.K. rcord collector price guide I know these 2 are sitting in the back of a ska collectors schwepps crate somewhere. I'd trade things like Roland Alphonso - James Bond, Busters All Stars - Supercharge, Cincinnatti Kid, Rock & Shake etc. for tidy condition jobbies, infact dont worry about the conditions.
