  4. Talking of strange things written in dead waxs', i've got a Nat Hall with some strange writing on it, says something like 'Russ Smith'...never heard of that pressing plant before
  5. As strange as this may sound, there are different presses of Sidney Hall & Shirley Edwards. I've got a Sidney Hall that's Bell Sound stamped & has totally different deadwax markings to a copy that I recently sold that wasn't Bell Sound stamped. The sound was very slightly different between the two as well. Same thing with the Shirley Edwards, it was a while back but I sat here holding both copies & thinking how strange they were different
  6. Forgot to say, the deadwax info of the flip on mine is : MRP/FR--JB-51679-BLR then a 15mm gap, then a letter B encased by a letter C.
  7. I was just comparing the white & black label Danny Monday boot to the original & just realised the boots have been pressed by using the original pressing plates. Only difference is the boots have a raised run in. Always thought the sound quality was good on these boots, so that's the reason. Wonder who found the plates? Hope this helps pottsy
  8. Hello Cunnie, The deadwax info on the original is : MRP/FR--JB-51679-GRFTG then a 25mm gap, then a letter B encased by a letter C. Under the label there is a slightly raised 4mm wide ridge that passes through the large middle sail on the ship logo. Hope this helps pottsy ps can anyone help with any info on the reissue of the VISE 45 on Chocolate Mama Records. Been told they don't have the address round the bottom of the label. Would be interested to know the markings in the deadwax.
  9. This record always brings a smile to my face face when I play it. I was doing Luton record fair once, my son who I guess was probably 10 or 12 at the time used to load & unload the van to earn his pocket money. He'd just got my sales table set up & went for a walk around to see what was about. He then came running back to the table with a stone cold mint Caesars - Girl I Love you in his hand, sticks it on my player, just as the intro kicks in he mumbles 'that's the one'. he then legs it ! Two minutes later comes back & says 'that was ok for £6 weren't it dad?' Blimey, yes, can I have it ? 'No, but i'll go back & get you one, he's got another two !"
  10. Good man, keep lookin ! Can't see anyone else wanting this, it's just that it has a sentimental memory kind of a thingy for me
  11. But Pete, the first 2 only book at twenty five quid each in last years U.K. rcord collector price guide I know these 2 are sitting in the back of a ska collectors schwepps crate somewhere. I'd trade things like Roland Alphonso - James Bond, Busters All Stars - Supercharge, Cincinnatti Kid, Rock & Shake etc. for tidy condition jobbies, infact dont worry about the conditions.
  12. I need the following : Moonlighters - Going Out - Island U.K. Downbeats - thinkin of you - Starlite U.K. Pharaohs - 1958 U.K. Decca E.P. I'd pay cash, or give good trades (Ska or Soul). pm or email : adypotts AT hotmail DOT co DOT uk

  14. Erm, but, but Chris. Oh never mind.
  15. Hi Chris, Sorry to hear you've got some issues. Keep your chin up mate. But there is bad news, they'll come back again on November 6th. with 36 negative feedbacks. Regards, pottsy
  16. Hi Chris, Sorry to have to say this but it needs to be said mate. A couple of years back I had a hell of a fight to get the records from you that i'd paid for on ebay. With the aid of a middle person, plus putting in a paypal claim I finally managed to get them. I know at that time there were others that were not as lucky as me & never got their records. Back then you had about 8 or ten negative feedbacks. Now I see you have 32 negatives plus another 26 mutually withdrawn negatives, so you had a grand total of 58 negatives ! Why on earth you've not been booted off ebay absolutely staggers me. I take my hat off to you to be honest, you certainly have got some front. So, have you turned over a new leaf ? Lets see. Regards, pottsy

  18. Talking of 78's, I forgot i'd tucked this one away many years ago, only found it again a couple of weeks ago. I'd put it inside a Top of the pops L.P. for safe keeping on top of the wardrobe, nearly chucked it away. It's never been played before, the 78 not the Top of the pops LP, not one single spindle mark on the label, it's mint. Now I wish i'd got more off the fella back then, he had the full set of Suns on both 45 & 78, all mint. Perhaps i'd now better sell it before I lose it again.
  19. Hello Tommaso, Issue's are a lot rarer. Why dont you tell us how much this vg++ copy is, then we'll tell you if it's a good deal, or not as the case may be Regards, pottsy

  22. huh huh huh
  23. About £150 now, maximum i'd say. There's a guy sitting with quantity in Pittsburgh. Hope this helps
  24. Someone got a bargain there ! Just looking at my copy, the reason why the one in the photo looks like it has too many grooves is because there's tidal lines (for want of a better description) between the grooves, mine has them as well. When you put it under the light these look like grooves.
