  3. huh huh huh
  4. mmmm, it's ok, bit too much like Pop for me, but then I suppose you have to cater for everyones tastes
  5. Hi Pete, Seem to remember Mike told me it was the same take, just a few seconds longer.
  6. Sorry Al, Just realised my posting has got nothing to do with your original question think I lost it there for a moment. Seen loads of copies, but never seen a copy with a promo sample sticker before.
  7. I know for a fact they did 3 presses of this record, because before it became a big ticket item years ago I used to pick up copies when I'd see them around, just because I liked the song. You could find them around for next to nothing. Anyway, I ended up with 7 copies on the shelf & one day I looked at them all on the table together & realised there were 3 variations on how they had printed the title. One was with the title in one long line, the other 2 designs had varying amounts above & below. So I would have thought this would point to Liberty having pressed a lot of copies. Some years back I was selling on Hemel market & a guy came up to me & told me he used to sell new record releases in the 60's via the row of tables I was on. He said to me "Do you know who was my best seller?" I replied the Beatles? "No !" he said "Someone you've probably never heard of, Timi Yuro !" pottsy
  8. Was just researching Mo Do records & came upon this, quite interesting reading : https://www.billynunn.com/modorecords.html
  9. Don't know if it will show up on this photo, but the raised letters/numbers are half way between the letter G on sandbag & the MS 3052 on this copy. Perhaps if someone has the boot they could post up a picture to show the difference in the drop towards the centre hole that Pete mentions. And if you're looking Rich Broughton it has your name, address & date - 29.2.76 in the deadwax on the flip, urgh ! You just had to do it, didn't you ! Hope this helps. pottsy
  10. Hi Kev, They're a black group out of San Diego, same group as Ike & the Vines, three male & two female singers. pottsy
  11. To me this sounds just like early Creedence Clearwater Revival when they used to sing under The Golliwogs name, but only not as good. Sounds like a white singer ? or most likely Tex-Mex ? Sorry Steve mate, I think this Top U.K. d.j. should go back to college, or perhaps get a better adviser As they used to say on Juke Box Jury...Hit or a miss ?
  12. I was really surprised that one on ebay only made just $600, someone got a real bargain. Unless I'm wrong, pretty sure there have only been 2 or 3 other copies found ? I know of the one that Carl F had & the one Tommy had, then the one Phil has got, are there any others ?? It's one of those records that you listen too on cd or tape & think...weird, then you hear it out loud & it sounds really good.
  13. Spot on ! Also, most of the collectors with big collections also have them filed under label order, group, solo, Detroit, Chicago, West Coast, etc. etc. so to put a small dj box together can take a lot of time. Then you have to put them all back again Just a thought re all the dj's out there...... There are a lot of dj's with good records, but, there are only a few dj's with great records !

  17. So, if you're reading this Big ('O' dear i've told a porky) it just shows you shouldn't tell fibbys ! mmm, found it in Davids Bookshop for 50p years ago did we It's ok fingers, he had it in his sales box at Hitchin last year, an issue if I remember correctly, just a shame about the warp, but I did enjoy his little 'fantasy' about finding it for 50p
  18. Are you his brother in law by any chance?
  19. Are you looking for originals, or boots?
  20. What, 1980's ?
  21. Here's a strange one. Nella Dodds - come see about me - Pye test press. The stamped matrix is 1-45-1281A-1T, the normal demo ends with 1S. The drum intro on the test press is very loud compared to the normal one, plus the whole song is louder as well.
  22. What's 'Old Skool' ? please.
  23. huh huh huh
  24. No Ang, I be from Aaartfordshire.
  25. Yes me too, some great sounds in that lot. I know you're working hard on tracking down some more group members to interview at this moment, good luck with this, can't wait for that interview. Here's to the next six years of the show Bob !
