  1. Hi Benji, Don't know if this is the version that Roger Banks was playing, but there's the John Westley - You are the one - Corsair Ady
  2. One of my favourite harmony songs is this one, again it's on Dore, it went on to become a big hit in East LA with the Latinos...... https://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=DgRiaq-zaI8 So nice to see original footage. Great idea for a thread Brad ! Regards, Ady
  3. Or..... 7th March. Stewartby Allnighter - Bedford. Nice easy run from Stanstead. There will be plenty of record sellers mate Ady.
  4. And the re-issue......
  5. Here you go mate. Original......
  6. Yes Tony, Coachunt (spelling?) fella had one on once, Ady.
  7. Blow it, forgot about that one, he contacted me at the time to ask for the dead wax info before he paid for it. Another one comes off my list
  8. Tony, Seb & Dave, yes you're absolutely right fellas now I've thought about it. Will delete them off the list
  9. Don't remember seeing : Del-Larks - job opening Johnny Honeycutt Leonard Jewell on Teri De Groovers on Teri De Young Brothers
  10. That was the copy that JM auctioned years ago, but got withdrawn I seem to remember ? Think he said at the time he'd had an offer he couldn't refuse? Anyway, like whats already been said, good record.
  11. The lead singer was Fred Stamps. They never got any kind of local bookings to perform from what I've managed to find out.
  12. I've got a nice copy of this if anyone else wants one. No hiss, doesn't distort. £650. Just pm me. Ady
  13. Hi Dave, Cheers for that ! I'll dig into that lot mate. One thing that has got me wondering, Godoy uses Colbert on some credits & Golbert on others Like you say, a bit of team effort. All good fun ! Ady
  14. Well spotted Alan, will try & find out if indeed it is his daughter
  15. His full name was Leonard Jewell Smith
  16. Hi Andy ! Now that confirms what I'd heard, so that's promising, thanks. Has anyone seen a photo of Leonard Jewell ? Is Jimmy Gresham still in prison ? Also, where it mentions Ben Gresham & Willie Gresham on the label credits, does anyone know if these guys were brothers? I know this is a real long shot, but if any family member or friend of the names I've mentioned happens to stumble across this thread it would be great to hear from you. Thanks, Ady
  17. Hi Jaco, Thanks for that mate. I do have all the info from the labels & I'm just going to concentrate on the labels 60's output. But many thanks for your help. Regards, Ady
  18. Funny you've asked this, I picked up a Deb Tones on the label a while back & was thinking the same thing. Perhaps you should start compiling one Cheers, Ady
  19. Hi Bob, To be honest, I can't remember. Someones borrowed my group harmony book so can't check in there at the moment to see if there's a mention of the group line up. Can anyone confirm? Ady
  20. I'm trying to put together an article on the pink Teri De label. Does anyone have any kind of info, however big or small, on the label, artists, producers, arrangers, etc.? Any pictures? I'm ok for label scans, but I'm desperate for any other info/pics. I have been told by someone who Teri De supposedly was, but would like to know for definite. So, I'm after any info on the following : THE GROOVERS - TERI DE 002 THE SOUL SHAKERS - TERI DE 003 LEONARD JEWELL - TERI DE 004 JIMMY GRESHAM - TERI DE 005 THE PENETRATIONS - TERI DE 006 Any pictures & info on related people: Godoy Golbert, James Anthony Durke, Roy Durkee, Miles Grayson, Charles Hutchinson, Ben Gresham, Willie Gresham, Delanieur Music. It does seem strange to me that the numbers started at 002. Wonder what happened to 001 ? Please PM, or email me at adypotts@hotmail.co.uk
  21. I know of only one copy without the stamp Trev. By the way, for anyone wondering what this red stamp is, it says : D.J. RECORDS FROM MALYNN - GUY WARD For a not very expensive record it's hard to find, as are all pink TERI DE numbers.
  22. Also, it's one thing to find a copy, but try finding one that plays perfect. I had a spare copy some years ago, looked clean but had that worn styrene sound, very muffled. Had the pleasure of talking to Sid Barnes down at the Dome when the Capital Soul Club had him sing there, he really is a nice fella. He was a bit overwhelmed by it all, but when he got up on stage he had a real nice time. That was a great night.
  23. Funny that, about Nabay, you never hear anyone say they like it. Although at least two people must have liked it for it to make £3103 Me ? I love it ! Always have done, great oldie.
  24. "But all prospective bidders please note, there is a tiny "pressure" flaw just inside the run-in" Does that mean it's cracked ?
  25. Hi Scott, The original : SIDE 1. In the deadwax it has TM-1931 ( then a gap of 4.5cm going anti clockwise - then it says ) #101 Let me know if you want a photo Ady
