  4. I've got a Henderson & Jones, EX with reversed labels. Funny enough I've kept this for a long time because I like the sweet side you've listed, not over keen on the modern funky side "I'm gonna getcha" Don't think I've ever seen one listed before so wouldn't have a clue what it's worth? May part with it. Anyone help out with a value? If it's not a lot I'll keep it, if it's a lot it can go

  7. I've got a nice copy you can have for a £100
  8. Spot on Peggy !! One of the best lines I ever heard you come out with was...... "Do ya know why I like you pottsy?"....."Errrrm no peggy"......"because no other f***er does"
  9. LaVern Baker - Voodoo Voodoo

  11. That was the copy Tommy sold, that Gareth mentions. I just had a listen to it via the description on popsike, nice tune, never seen another one for sale. Is this the copy that Arthur ended up with?
  12. Easy, the flip of Gloria Gaynor - Never can say goodbye
  13. I think I'd go for the natural wood surround one at £299.
  14. I've got a nice white demo with the good flip side that I'd sell. £450.
  15. Just ran a search on that user name & I can't find it
  16. It's a cut down version Pete, but the same footage, it doesn't have the interview bit. Great to see this again, one of my favourite songs. It charted pretty high in L.A., definitely a top 20 hit. They're pretty easy to find out there still, mind you, when you find one it's usually beat up. Think the lead singer on this song was Eleanor Greene. The other female vocalist on their records was Samantha Larke. It was a cover of an old Nat King Cole song. Remember a few years ago there was a copy in a stack of records that had just gone into an East L.A. record shop that I'd gone into. The Latino shop owner pulled it out of the stack. I asked if he was going to keep it? He said "no, I'll keep it for the kids that come in & ask for it." Thanks for posting it up Bob !
  17. Exactly. There's one in sales I noticed today for a £150 !
  18. Hi Robert, Only just realised you're on soul source fella ! See ya still finding nice records, did you ever get yourself another Martineques? Ady ps If you've not dealt with mr poox, he's a sound geezer ! Known him years
  19. Marco, I know Paul Rudzy had one a couple of years ago that he was prepared to sell. He may still have it. Seem to remember it was three grand. Give him a try.
  20. I love the "It only hurts for a little while" it's an incredible track. Just a thought, I wonder what the sound clarity is like on this copy compared to the mid 60's release? Would be interesting to play them side by side.
  21. That one came over to the UK as well when Martin sold up. It's one thing finding a copy, but it's hard to find one that doesn't hiss, or have cracks. The one that just sold sounded ok.
  22. If it's a 1970 press, would guess it was aimed at sales in east L.A. Ady. Don't forget that area had taken this sound as 'their' sound at that time. Look at the output from Memory Pain, Good Old Gold, Groovey Disc, Lost Nite, etc. Re-issuing (booting) sounds from the 50's/60's for the Latino population in E.L.A. It also fitted in with the Low Rider scene. You can sometimes pick up these records, mint old stock, in record shops in that area as it's still popular there today. I will never forget the first time I stayed at a mates place down Whittier Blvd a few years back, we sat in his back yard late on a Friday night & the air was filled with the sounds of group ballads from the likes of Thee Midniters, then the occasional 'crack, crack', followed by me saying "oh, someones got some fireworks!" But Sunday night was dead quiet, they're a religious lot !
  23. Seem to remember it was out of Danville, Virginia
