  1. CHANCE & TONY "PRETTY BABY" ANN-V £750 Now this has turned out to be a rare record, CHANCE & TONY on ANN-V. Not known to a lot of people. It has surface scuffs but plays crisp, loud & clear. Please see photo for label condition. This is the copy I play at Stewartby. Price is £600 plus £7.90 special delivery within the UK. Can be heard on youtube, but that's not my copy playing.

  3. Here's a bit of a bargain for you. The Puffs "I only cry once a day now" / "MOON OUT THERE" for £200. Condition. Vinyl is visually Excellent. The record is perfectly flat, but here's the reason I've halved it's price. On the outer edge there are tiny little edge ripples to the vinyl. In the silent run in you can hear some noise, not ticks or pops - more like a whoosh sound, this then fades when the music kicks in. Mind you, like a number of rare West Coast vinyl presses it's pressed on that slightly noisy reconstituted vinyl. Postage at cost.

  12. Some years back I used to have a table on Hitchin market. A chap I'd known for many years would come & see me most weeks as I would find him bits & pieces that he collected, he liked vintage advertising items, local postcards, etc. On my table I had a couple of boxes of records and one week he said he had some records in his loft. Every now & then I'd ask him to bring them along, he'd then reply with "Find me something I want & I might do". Anyway, one week I'd found about 8 or 10 old local postcards & I had them at the back of the table. He spotted them & he really wanted them. I agreed to keep them for him until the next week to give him time to go in the loft. Next week he was there early in the morning. We went over to the car park to his car, he insisted I take my few postcards with me, and he opens the boot up. I nearly fell over it was full of boxes of CBS demo's ! I asked him how he'd managed to get them ? He said he worked for CBS from the mid 60's, he told me he pretty much ran the whole thing. I only got a few records in swaps for the cards, so I asked could I buy the rest ? No you find me some more trades & I'll put them back in the loft for now he said. That was about 12/15 years ago, I see him a couple of times over the following year but not seen him since. I'd rather not say what I managed to get in swaps that day, but the important thing was we were both happy (-;

  14. Hi Steve Re "when did it first emerge to the light of day and by whom". John Anderson found it & sold one to Richard Searling. Richard plays it covered up as Joe Mathews around 78/79. Stays a c/up until Kev Draper gets a copy. Think Kev plays it uncovered at the Fleet, 80/81 ? Originals have a nice crisp ARP stamp in the dead wax.
