    Stevenage New Town Soul Club tonight. Anyone that doesn't know the venue, there's lots of free parking beside it. Also, there's parking behind the venue. Just carry on up Vardon Road past the entrance to the club on the right. Take next right into Jessop Road. 1st & 2nd turnings on the right there's parking in there, twenty seconds walk to the door.

    Are you sure about that? I was stood next to Soul Sam when he played his some years back at club Caliente Peterborough, his had a date stamp on it. Also the sound was very crisp & loud, unlike the early look a like boot. With that early boot the labels were very good, but like Trev has said they have a gloss to the paper. But when you play them side by side the sound difference is very noticeable. 'They' put a date stamp on some of the early boots, not all. I would guess then what happened is the early boots started making big money so they booted the boot, the newer ones having the date stamp.

    Stevenage Saturday 19th April 2025 A new night in a town that hosted many Soul nights back in the later 60s to early 70s. Places like The Patio Suite, Locarno Mecca Danestrete, Bowes Lyon House, The Glass Onion - Broadhall Way, The New Penny Discotheque - Queensway, Town Centre. Classic Soul dance tracks from labels such as Stateside, Motown, Stax, Cameo-Parkway, Atlantic, Ric Tic, Invictus, plus many more would get played alongside Ska & Reggae dancers. That's what this event is about, nothing obscure or super rare, just very good dance music of that time.
