  1. ========== Now that made me laugh JT, if you're really gonna cut it on the funk scene, get yourself some 'soul glo', dude Winnie:-)
  2. ======== Is that the one that Rob Messer is in?
  3. ======= You've only said that to get respect from the funk 'massive' What about them funny plastic sandals the 'funksters' used to wear, bet they're still in evidence at your weekenders Actually does anyone on here go to the funk weekenders....are there people there, bimbling about in hawaian shirts, peg leg trousers etc reliving their youth in the 'Devils Den' Winnie:-)
  4. ========== Just want to point out that 'cant' should really only be used by Londoners, cos in the hands of outsiders (essex and the like) it really gets bast*rdised by the bumpkin twang they attach. For proper usage go to www.urafackincant.com .......it has soundclips so the unitiated can improve their accents Winnie:-)
  5. ======== Quite right Ali, I mean in all honesty, can anyone take what JT says on a funk message board with a total of 17 members, who probably all wear silly shirts seriously? Winnie:-)
  6. ============ First person I heard using the term was a girl called Karen Saville in the early 70Ts. I kinda thought it was cute, and have used it since in reviews etc. Don't think it was ever meant to offend, just a little wordplay Winnie:-)
  7. ========= Is it a serious question, or did you just want to get the mastur*bate gag in
  8. ======== Yep, I've noticed better get this one back on track, before it's usurped Certainly sounds like a very good CD Winnie;-)
  9. ===== I think it would be easier to explain the meaning of life, than resolve the boots vs originals debate
  10. ====== Didn't get to pressssstatyyn this year as I have a course I have to go on ;-( Read your post, and think it's the most soulful one of the year......probably cos you put in a 'yeah' and an 'oh yeah'
  11. ======= Baz, What if she covered a northern or motown classic? Something that we all consider soulful, could she pull it off? She is a commercial singer, and she is in it for the money, no one doubts that, but isn't/wasn't everyone? In the 60Ts, when singers released their records, do you think they were hoping for success, or failure, I would guess the first. If said release had been successful, (say J.D. Bryant) and charted, then it would have been lost to the northern scene because it wouldn't meet the obscurity criteria required. It probably wouldn't even be mentioned on SS, and would be generally be regarded, as just another commercial release, for the uneducated masses. Winnie:-) PS personally I think she's a good singer, and capable of soulful performance
  12. ======= Also seen in a couple of adverts, one for tango, as a postman and one for some dodgy album of 70Ts music, might even have been soul, can't remember. He jigs about like he's really enjoying himself :-)
  13. ========= I can go along with this sentiment, well the bit in inverted commas anyway :-)
  14. ======== Well it looks Arsenal orientated, but can't be sure.....perhaps you could enlighten me?
  15. ========= I guess the yawn may have something to do with your avatar :-)
  16. ========= Neil, Just looking at your avatar mate, I suddenly realised, from whence the love of the current style of shirt you frequently model, emanated Winnie:-)
  17. ========= A strange tribe of people who live very close, regularly sacrifice one of their own, to the great "Oc". Whilst I haven't actually spoken to any of them, it is clear from the look on their faces, when descending into the pond that they are clearly at one with themselves. They are known as the bebop alula tRiBe, and an impending sacrifice is signalled, by a hearty rendition of "Third window from the right". Winnie:-)
  18. ======== And I have a doc Oc at the bottom of my pond :-)
  19. ======= And if you swallow a radio-active one, you get to fight Doc Oc, or the Green Goblin. Webslinger:-)
  20. ========= It's nice to know I won't be alone Can't understand why no one wanted to be Janine's carer......it's a job for life
  21. ========= They really are benign creatures, don't worry. I would offer to help protect you, but I'm not going............. AS ..........I won't go anywhere where theres silverfish Winnie:-)
  22. ======= Tiny little insect type things, usually found in cupboards etc and they enjoy the damp. They do move with startling speed, but normally make for the dark. They are harmless, as in they don't bite or claw etc :-) Winnie:-)
  23. ======= Went to see it last year.......the butler did it :-) Winnie:-)
  24. ======== I think you should invite Mace as an EXCLUSIVE GUEST Winnie:-)
