  3. ================ Watch Shameless tomorrow to see Frank Gallagher wearing a northern soul t-shirt.......... imagine if people at northern do's actually got into that state Shameful perhaps
  4. ============= In the mid 7Ts when every town had a nighter. Went to a couple, reasonably well attended, (mostly local) but crowd knackered by 4 in the morning. Maybe cos it was so close to the Pilgrim it was the natural progression Winnie :-)
  5. Not sure if it's been mentioned, Le Scala
  6. Couple more in Bedford Rowing club Corn Exchange Both very short lived.
  7. As I haven't seen him mentioned yet David Flynn.
  8. =========== Very pleasant track
  9. ============= Was able to listen to it through clicking on someone's last played clip. Is that ok for the site Mike? Win :-)
  10. ============ Difficult to disagree with this, has there ever been a music scene that has successfully attracted equal numbers of young and old?
  11. I really like it, and think it is soulful and a lot better than some of the dross inflicted on the scene by DJ's keen to promote their personal taste, rather than entertain paying punters. Winnie :-)
  12. =============== Mine was also at a Cala Gran weekender. DJ's were slapping each other on the back but as I said at the time they had little to do with it, the atmosphere had been created by the punters. It was like the casino when everybody clapped in unison, sent shivers...........
  13. The 'Q' is heart attack material, as is 'higher and higher', and the 'who who song. Even as a youngster found them almost impossible to dance to
  14. =========== Had a quick google for you, hope this helps :-) https://www.ufindus.com/investigator/bootle Don't think the link works, but there is a number.......................... Tel: 0870 7656824 - Call Point Southport Road, L20 0DQ
  15. ============== Some good points Chris, particlularly a,b, and c. Think that might bring out the 'it's naff' crew, and the 'we're already viewed as circus' team. Personally still like to see it when it's done well and in time with the music. For me the most pertinant point, it's a dance scene Also think I saw Keb and Trickster (had to watch it twice) and possibly Oscar 100 club stalwart? Winnie :-)
  16. =================== I actually agree with you the dancing is pretty good. I did recognise Liam who is an exceptional dancer. The only criticism I would have had is that the dancing didn't match the music, as in, shuffling and acrobatics? Whilst I like the track, I think it's too slow for those particular elements, but well worth seeing. Cheers Col

  18. ============== Similar thoughts crossed my mind. Also wondered if their is a DJ who's never played a boot or re-issue?? Time for some more back-slapping
  19. Good luck to you and your family Anton and the same to Brian. Winston
  20. ============== Perfectly rational Brian, having fianally waded through the thread, just asked who actually knew what she'd played at the last relevant post I got to. Personally I think she's taken a hammering on here without anyone having any proper evidence, but then again a lot of people have been able to validate their OVO policy publically
  21. ========== I've read all through this thread and haven't seen this girl's playlist anywhere, so how do you or anyone else know she was playing 'mainly boots'? Winnie:-)
  22. Get well soon Dave Winston
  23. Merry xmas and a happy new year to one and all Winnie:-) x
  24. =============== Yeah I sorta like it, can imagine Van Morrison singing it, do think its poppy though.
  25. ============== Gotta love you Si His musical legacy is outweighed by the fact he beat up women IMO. I have no respect for a man like that!! Winnie:-)
