New Members - Please Post An Intro
Mike I've probably asked this before but is there a way you could make it that you can't post anywhere until you've actually given an intro, or it that too big a task, or maybe too intrusive?

Poll: Your Night Out
I should clearly have been more genre specific when commenting on a soul site Pretty much agree with the rest of what you've said I don't go out anymore, but should that situation change, because of Soul Source I already know which places I'd go to (granted most of them would be 'go back to') so I'm always grateful to it for 'keeping me in the loop'.

Poll: Your Night Out
Yeah I know that Mike, was just making the point that Soul Source isn't just collectors or DJ's it caters for everyone
-
Poll: Your Night Out
If it was there would surely have been a lot more votes cast. Soul source has 16000 members, so far less than 1% have voted, I think saying 'mainly' is slightly inaccurate?

Poll: Your Night Out
Or is that the one true ATB person on soul source? :D Wasn't me by the way
-
Poll: Your Night Out
Polls fine mate, would be too difficult to set it up to suit everybody's taste, would also be about 10 pages long

Poll: Your Night Out
Like Bearsy I'd prefer not to be paying to hear boots, but have done in the past, as has been pointed out to me NS isn't life and death

Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
Also suggested this Carms, would set it up but don't know how?
-
Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
it would appear 15,900 soul source members heartily agree with you

Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
Why doesn't someone set up a poll, I'd do it but not sure how. Something along the lines of: 1. Original vinyl only 2. vinyl only 3. Not too bothered one way or the other 4. Can't be bothered to vote. Soul source has 16000 members, should get a fair representation if people bother to vote?

Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
I get that the northern scene isn't a matter of life and death Russ, I also understand that this is a forum which debates various topics, and the only time I get defensive is when I'm attacked personally, so don't worry I'm fairly chilled

Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
yes you did

Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
Just did what again Russ?

Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
Russ didn't say that in his reply, he told me I was inflammatory and passive aggressive because I asked Kev how many people would trek up to the decks to check whether a record was an original or not. Seems a perfectly valid question to me, being as we're discussing whether boots can ever be played?
-
Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
I think Kev's already answered this Chalks, it was a light hearted reference
-
Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
I suspected that's what you meant
-
Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
I don't know Russ, Kev used the phrase in the post I replied to, (post 194) maybe you want to ask him, or accuse him of making inflammatory remarks in the passive aggressive manner I've become known for?

Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
Wasn't dissing the maths Kev, agree with you the original estimate was a touch fanciful So there's even more suspicion at at chinstroker's night regarding if it's OVO being played? Or are you just talking about going up to the decks out of interest?

Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
I'd say that's about the size of it, and if you leave aside the 'split on the scene', then it's the majority viewpoint? When we were doing the maths earlier in this thread (maybe another one, can't remember) it was estimated around 20000 people active on the scene (bit high)? But how many of those would trek up to the decks to check whether it was an original being played, or just get on with dancing/chatting/drinking?
