  1. Right, just off out to act 'The Div'...................
  2. Well if you say so, it must be true ...................
  3. I wish you'd have said ''I'll get my Captain Scarlett uniform''
  4. Not doubting that for a minute Julie, I think it was Dave2 who said it takes some balls to get up on an empty dance floor, just saying, from a dancers perspective which I suspect that lad is, doesn't matter what time of the day it is if you hear something you like
  5. Joan, you're a dancer and before old age and 'wobble bottom' claimed me I used to consider myself the same, and I never worried what time of the day it was, if I liked a record I'd dance, and I'd bet you're the same
  6. Probably sacrilege to most northern fans, but I dislike this even more than I dislike guitar Ray's version
  7. You been on the grumpy Gus pills Julie? The little girl looks like she's enjoying herself to me, and fair play to her
  8. excellent footwork Ged, especially in the first clip enjoyed watching him dance
  9. Trammps for me, purely sentimental reasons, first record I bought for my wife to be, still got it somewhere
  10. What a great clip, some nice moves as well
  11. Eric Knowles not quite 'giant' enough Ian?
  12. Nice read, too much to hope he was there on the same night as Anna Ford........... Now that really would be a coincidence
  13. I'm aware buddy, it's like a disease, but a nice one. Already booked myself in to go to Rugby as well, see you saturday at the bowls club
  14. I've listened to about an hour and a half of it so far, thought it was fairly pleasant. I was there the last time he played the 100 and he had the dance floor heaving, I don't know if it'll be an 'I was there moment', only one way to find out I guess, looks like I'll have to put in the effort
  15. Marvin...............
  16. No, I like it as well
  17. I am sorely tempted Ady, so I may make the journey
  18. Haven't done a nighter for ages, but can't say I'm not interested, he's just one of those names that you can't ignore Part of me is wondering about the timing, are we allowed to know if this has been a protracted negotiation Ady, or very recent? Winnie
  19. Also on it, pop in every so often, don't ever get too involved
  20. Just saw Lorraine's name and that's a good call so I'll nominate her also. Plus Matt Male Scotty
  21. My nominations: Rich Chorley - persistence in getting a point across and willing to put in the time to research whatever subject he's commenting on. Jocko - Great knowledge, and his wit just has me in stitches Steve Guanori - not much he doesn't know soul wise, and he's made the political debates quite interesting. Quick question, if we think of other people in the mean time, are we allowed to add them to the nominations by answering our own post?
  22. Have a good one Mike
  23. I spent some time talking to Elaine yesterday and her only goal is to make a film that reflects the northern scene evolving in the 7Ts, it's us as ''devotees'', that are looking into having a say in what is essentially her project. Whilst chatting, the thing that came across was that she had no agenda, just wanted to make an enjoyable quality film, that's as authentic in it's production as possible, and I applaud her for it. There'll be no aged dancers, and why should there be, I realise you're not saying there should be, but she told me it's been one of the biggest criticisms so far, but as soon as you stick us balding or chubby types in, it would in my opinion lose it's realism, and as thats what she's going for, fair play. As I said earlier, the points Callum made were more to do with the radio show and it's portrayal, and I tend to agree with him and Bearsy, some more contemporary music wouldn't have gone amiss, but as I also said, I would have liked to have seen/heard a part 2, explaining the progression but I think that's a totally separate topic from Elaine's film
  24. I thought Callum was talking about the radio programme and the people interviewed on it, he only mentioned Elaine's film at the end and said he was looking forward to it, so they're two separate topics to me. If she were making a documentary on today's scene it would be impossible to please everyone, the oldies crowd sees themselves as the stalwarts, the upfront crowd sees themselves as the future. Neither is wrong, but impossible to portray, which is why she's chosen to make a feature film, about the 7Ts with the main theme being northern soul, pretty sensible move if you ask me looking forward to seeing it, as I think we all are
