  1. One person's 'floor clearer', is another persons 'must dance' record, you'll have to check the flyers more closely. I'd be a bit surprised if there's a northern DJ who hasn't heard of 6x6 maybe they just didn't have it with them?
  2. Can we all agree that Cochise is woeful?
  3. I think they're both beautiful records and I'd dance to either, having said that neither are out and out dance floor friendly in the traditional sense. Odyssey would probably be considered too 'mainstream' to be played, but I remember in the Cleethorpes modern room one year, ''I'm doing fine now'' was played and it went down an absolute storm. I've always wondered why Almeta Lattimore didnt actually chart, such a quality record.
  4. Mighty lover for me as well, and yes I prefer ''if it's all the same to you babe''
  5. Thang u very much............
  6. Another youngster :D
  7. It does look really good, I've definitely got to give this one a go, and soon
  8. It must be nice to be 14. I hope the love stays with you buddy
  9. How good does that look, when's your next do?
  10. Hell of a phone bill though
  11. Certainly looks the part Cunnie
  12. Nope, don't know how to download them to my phone, so I've got some traditional British folk music (instrumental of course) type thing that came with the phone
  13. As you've brought up 'worst floors', can't agree with you about Sheridans being a good floor (and I loved the venue) when the condensation hit it, it became like an ice rink. I liked the little floor in the other room and actually don't mind the 100 club dance floor either
  14. Is that the one Wicksy used to promote, complete with disco floor with lights in the middle?
  15. And I'll be coming along to have a jig about to Ted's spot
  16. No worries Richie, I'll get there for either Sean or Moldie's night Absolutely exquisite floor, and any night that had Rixy as a resident was going to be a winner Had forgotten about Bisley Bearsy, yeah, nice dance floor
  17. Soul Sam would be a definite and if it doesn't fall on the same night as snooks in June, then that's a strong possibility
  18. Will definitely be giving this a go in the near future Richie
  19. Can't make the pic any bigger so can't read what it says above the door, where is it? Just thought of another one I like, the Parkway club in peterborough
  20. So what's your favourite dance floor, I realise it's only personal opinion. I've purposely not asked for the least favourite as that could be a bit contentious In no particular order Stoke Aqua (do they still have soul nights there) Rugby (both rooms) Willington Goodyears Brighouse Ritz That'll do for a start, any others worth a mention?
  21. No I don't overly worry either Joan, I used to, but we've been talking about the death knell for at least 10 years now, and it's still no closer. What I do know is that when I go out, I see more and more new faces, all slightly younger than me, maybe northern is just something that you don't find, if you weren't about first time round, until you reach 40. My guess is we'll still be discussing this in 10 years time, but more likely it'll be in the ''all our yesterdays'' section
  22. I however, am a suspicious grumpy old bloke, who needs a Waldorf to his Statler
  23. I did the first one Kev, and will do this one if a bit of personal info is forthcoming, but is this survey number 2 in a series of 2, or number 2 in a series of 50, is he/she contacting different genres of music, or just soul sites, I suppose basically like Joan, I'm curious, as I like to know what I'm investing my time in :D
