  4. I can't put my hands at the moment to do you a proper scan of my white promo of Jimmy Hughes 'lovely ladies' on Fame (styrene) distributed by Tollie but I've photoed this from Popsike. You mean these Tollie dist. Fame records I'm sure ? Cheers, Tim

  6. To get back on the subject, has anyone else have/sse/hear off a 'black-red see through vinyl copy' ? Or only 'black-black' ones (and blue of course) out there ? Cheers, Tim
  7. I always heard about the black vinyl ones and the translucide blue issues. But my copy looks black at first but then in front of a light source, it's see through red ! A bit like some of the Diamond vinyl (not the styrene ones of course) promotional copies eg; Joan Baker 'everybody's talkin' & Robert Portee 'casanova' that seem black, but actually are in front of a strong light source deep brown stained see through. Now, are most of the tought so black vinyl of the Icemen on OLE-9 really black vinyl or, like mine; red see through in front of a light source ? Cheers, Tim
  8. What label/issue are you reffering to ? Lotsa legit reissues (Spher Sound, Bell, Lost Nite, Coillectable) ! Bootleg; never heard for this one. Cheers, Tim
  9. Hi Steve, you say yours is black vinyl, but is it still black facing back a direct light ? Mine looks black, but it's red barely see through behind a light ! Like those Kurt Harris on Diamond vinyl pressings, they're all (or most) see through brownish colours behind a light. But they seem plain black otherwise. How's your Icemen on OLE-9 then ? The same as mine or black even behind a light source ? Cheers, Tim
  10. Bloody old laptop... Battery over heating... I continue; ying the tapes losing one channel to do the master and straight to the pressing plant ? You still can hear the vocals far away on a stereo system (not on a mono one though) and then press it with reverse labels. What ever the story, this canadian record was spelled !
  11. I believe so. Now what is a mistake pla
  12. Had it twice exactly the same, so not so common but then, not so in-demand apparently. Tim
  13. I did once had an Impression home and didn't kept it. It was low-fi in comparaison of the Jerhart and the tune was just not there anymore. The Jerhart just like the UK President one blow the speaker from the first note. So I just kept my Jerhart instead. Is it also the case also with your Impression copy ? Meaning, are they all like that ? Tim
  14. Got this record for peanuts in a batch of 'un-desired' soul 45's from a UK scouterist while the 'Im on to you' side was still a somehow left-field northern soul kinda tune some 20 years ago. And the 'promise that you'll wait' was not even considered by many then. I kept this 45 for the 'promise' side as a 'guilty secret love affair. Never and still not bothered with the actual real 'A' side. If it was not for the 'promise' side, it would simply have find it's way in my sales box. The 'promise that you''ll wait' IS A 5 stars TUNE ! I Always loved IT and appreciated IT before loving it. Even more and MORE after playing it home through time. It just grows and grows and doesn't wear out. I was indeed surprised by the tagged prices it commanded after getting it for nuthings. It actually does seem to be less rare than in-demand (quote Boba), I agree on that. Now I just 'youtubed' Skip 'promise' to check my next question and discovered that there is a Michael LIZZMORE version on Capitol wich is a descent 1972 cover version of 'promise'! Cool ! BUT in the end, I'll really stick with Skip version ! HE IS TOTALLY ROOT ! Michael is like stated on youtube; 'clean'. Now, a last thing and I can't put my finger on (help welcome) anymore, but there is another record tune commending bigger money (200-400) using other lyrics and titles on the same horns riffs 'poo pah pah poo doo dooh'. I can't recall if it uses exactly the same backing track or not anymore. But then wich I remember was released on another major-major or smallER-major label. Anyone pictures it ?
  15. Wants post, wrong forum ! This is sales. Cheers, Tim
  16. I know this won't help your 'want' case (since I don't have one to offer you), but this one burries Kenny's original versions by a mile ! Like a jamaican friend of mine once told me; 'you need radioactive glove to hold that record' KILLA !
  17. Sounds more like a new 'sounds alike or copycat' thingy to me. Tim
  18. In previous topic (july 2011), Marc Forrest quote 'don't want to be your fool' b/w 'you sould have told me' on Radio City 1001 as by the Royal Knights (not the New Yorkers) !!! Still, would love to see that !
  19. On 'You sould have told me' Radio City 1001 it states distributed by Primemasters. Does that help ? Tac-Ful, don't say nuthin 'bout dist.
  20. OK Rob, I have never seen a 'proper' Radio City of 'don't wanna be your fool'. But I did saw that one as I described before (Radio City glued on covering up upper half of the label) and the 'part of the label missing' as quoted by Chalky made me think of that Radio City glued on label. Would love to see that Radio City one day. Tim
  21. I remember of it being a 'Tac Full' label (not even the flat design one without the footbal players) with the half top of label covered with an 'add on sticked' kind of thing with a print-stamp 'Radio City records' sticker with a pen date written on it and/or a 'library' classification number. Something like that. That is the one I saw (I think a JM's auction) a while back with some intrigue. But then happy enough with my full bodied designed Tac-Full label in the end. Tim
  22. I had some 15 years ago in my hands few (5 or 6) NOS Jerry Williams 'run run...' on Ja Musicor (white label and black print), maybe not sixties but at leat seventies presses. All of them were off centered and played with distortion. So I didn't bought them then. A variation to your Ja Calla. Tim
  23. Wanted on C. T .B. in a playable or better condition for a friend. PM me for condition and price. Cheers, Tim
  24. 'this beautiful place' doesn't have thje violin intro like the 'the world again' does, buthas birds (?) shouts and whistles almost all the way. The Subway Riders doesn't have the violin nor the birds though.
  25. The oriignal copy as shown with wrong spelling; 'to much' and boot corrected as 'too much'
