  1. Not the country singer nor the jazz saxophonist. This Bobby Boyd (here with his Playboy Review) didn't have so many recordings apparently. I had his 'watcha' gonna do about it' on Bang 45 wich I always tought to be overlooked. It's true that Bang is not really an appeciated label for soul cravers. There's also that rare modern soul 'congress' LP out there with good stuffs on. Still, when I discover he had another 45 on a local label called Bark, I had to look for it. Wich I did and this is my actual first copy. Vinyl has a light dish and few scuffs to make it an EX and the - for the slight dish. The label is only VG for the overall wear and coffee stains ?! I can't find a soundclip of this and I'm still unable to produce one. But 'forgive and forget' is a raw uptempo guitar & organ (the church kind) driven tune with great horn hooks all the way through with Bobby singing with all his guts. Flip is a southern ballad in it's genre. Not a common or well known 45 I believe. 50 £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD ! 2. Johnny Williams first 45 and what a tune ! Johnny's lazy plaintive singing is something that always got me hooked. Added to the heavy and what seems like slow motion orchestration, it always made me think that the studio session took place during a heat wave and the air co was burned out. Cool Chess promo (not just the black & white). Click on scan to check those light faded grey imprint 'promotional copy - not for sale' all over the label. Condition is EX - due to light scuffs but plays super great and loud and still looks real good ! Was my first copy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53qFmjEJhKI 50 £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD ! 3. I doubt the demo factor could be an issue in this case. Never liked the track so didn't pay much attention to the different mixes possibilities. For fact; I had multiples of Derek Martin 'if you go' on American Sue from two different pressing plants on vynil. One full orange with bold typo and the other with the white stripes and thin typo. And if they were the same takes indeed, the mixes were totally different. I had the same with Inez & Charlie Foxx 'I feel alright' on American Symbol. One on a shiny label with the multi coloured top and bold typo and the other mat label with orange top and thin typo. Same take once again but totally diferent mixes. Never bothered then to inquire much more into it then, just sold them. I had few Marjorie Black, but I don't remember wich ones. Never had a promo though. But I could easely believe that according to the different pressings of Marjorie Black on Sue, different mixes could also exists. So I would rather believe that different demos from different pressing plants would usually then use the same matrix plates for both their promos and issues. If I would have like these tunes, I would then have bothered much more to seek the press to have and not to have.

  6. How good is this ? The ' can't run away' side is one of the last Constellation side I discovered only a few years ago. I never had one in hand before to give it a listen. I knew from lsales ists that the 'she's my bay' side was tipped on... When I heard 'she's my baby' I understood why. But when I heard 'I can't run away' I was listenning to something that brought me way back when I used to dig through thousands of records and listen to hundreds of them that you don't know and suddenly flash over one you didn't expect to. Great trip ! Listen to both sides. This copy is in EX+ condition. !!! SOLD !!! 25 £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD ! 7. Chicago classic in real lovelly nick. One drill hole on edge of label and not going in run out groove from both sides ! So no injuries on needles . 8. Early and a real firm favourite from him for me and for a long time now. Flip maybe more for the Pop-Corn ears. Still Gene's voice and tallent makes this another real double sider. Condition is EX. Plays beautiful. 25 £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD ! (extra 6 £ to have it signed for) payment through Paypal as 'to family or friends' gradings M, EX, VG, G
  9. Canadian Hi-Quality pressing in Ex+ condition (almost mirror vinyl for only two scuffs NAP att all on 'LMA' side at 3 O'clock) for this now firm favourite of her's. But do not forget to play the flip side for 'you and the night and the music' for major drama time. 25 £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD ! 10. Toni Williams 'precious minutes' is boss !
  11. 3 singles and 6 sides from this man ! The 'don't Foprget about me' side had plays on the northern front in the ballad category. The flip 'language of love' is brilliant also. Pop-corn with an almost teeny appeal but still with a wondefull deep orchestration and arrangements. Not forgetting to mention Jeff's blues lament. Condition is VG ++ OR EX-- from surface marks (see scans) on the vinyl but it still plays like a good EX. I've fully played both sides and there's not too much noise from those scuffs. Soundclips are not from the actual record for sale. 35 £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD ! (extra 6 £ to have it signed for) payment through Paypal as gift
  12. Hi, sorry about the 'amputed' sale post, but there was an issue with my sales posts and the prices vanished in the process to resolve the issue. The Gloria is 35 £ P&P included. Cheers
  13. The version no matter what they say ! OUTSTANDING lyrics, OUTSTANDING composition, OUTSTANDING arrangements, OUTSTANDING orchestration, OTSTANDING vocals, OUTSTANDING condition but for the name written on 'TCIO' side and drill hole. Otherwise would be M- with it's classy company sleeve. Not forgetting to play the flip side either ! 22 £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD ! 14. Gloria Walker & the Chevelles might sound less eloquent than the title and the label's name but what a great singer she is and here she let her voice loose to deliver on 'you hit the spot' a funk sista attitude wiith still enough soul to favor us. The Chevelles is the band doing the other half of this tune blessing it with a street soul'N'funk street stand. The flip side 'walking with my new love' is the cherry to top with a rather non-challant ballad. Condition is Ex+ with WOL on 'WWMNL' side. !!! SOLD !!! 35 £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD ! (extra 6 £ to have it signed for) payment through Paypal as gift
  15. The 3:46 long cut on a legit 1978 Holland press doubled with 'hard hands' on the flip. EX- condition plays super clean. 20 £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD ! (extra 6 £ to have it signed for) payment through Paypal as gift

  18. I have this press for a long time (bought it in a collection in the mid 8T's) and was always dubvious from it's where abouts. Is it a boot, or a another (Berry street station, Six feet under) later press made by Major Bill Smith ? I still can't be sure. I've had different 7T's Le Cam records in hands and they are so many variant typos, colours and designs, it's impossible for me to tell wich is what. Can Someone let me know ?
  19. PM me to reserve and/or inquire Payment accepted through Paypal as gift. Post to Europe is 10 £ and 12 £ to the rest of the world (+ 4 £ to have it registered) Cover is Ex has bit of wear and a thin tape has been applied at center bottom (most likely to prevent a split to grow or to appear) and vinyl is Ex+, real nice 125 £ + P&P
  20. Available on original 45 only as a UK or French release condition is VG- toward VG (not using the EX grading system) both cover and vinyl but still looks good and plays descent (with crackle here and there) with the music still overpowering the crackles and pops Sorry but I'm unable to make a sound clip out of it P&P FREE (not registered though) 40 £ through Paypal as gift please, Thanx, Tim
  21. Sorry, but can't agree at ALL l; 'it's love' is plain weak to me. Had it and got rid of it (cheap both ways). Not bad as such, just rather boring and MOR. Another one of those not so "well put together" Correc-tone's second life around. Unlike Wilson Picket and Gino Washington who are all time greats 4 both sides, none of the following Correc-tones releases achieved any musical greatness no matter how much money the command. While Theresa 'Daddy-O' is brilliant all the way OOZING with as much soul as groove. You can play it home or in a club out loud It is as suttel as heavy. It's pleasure to the ear as to the feet. The Golden World one is/was more common than the Correc-tone. True ! Or was to become... but the reasons why are obvious; one is much better than the other one. Cheers, Tim
  22. In Demand rare Belgian (ONLY & 500 pressed) club "mod" freakbeat the Snap Shots 'Hip Hip Hurray'. Looking to trade for a nice northern or modern soul record of same market value (300 £). VG+ and plays absoloutly loud and clear. library classified number WOL and Sleeve, radio stamp on label and sticker tear on label. So not a collectors prize but more than descent to play home and to DJ with. As scan show. Cheers, Tim
  23. Not Belgian, Holland boot for the "Surinamese scene". One of them "IT" thing that to track, understand or surround you have to be "it" to recognize, accept and understand "IT". It's not "A" sound that you can define in simple terms or explian in few sentences. The "Surinamese musical scene" have been a topic on Soul source as far as I remember. So many small "named" after their own labels. Brits had northern soul, Belgians had pop-corn, Deutch had Surinamese. Cheers, Tim
