Yeah, well this might be true (Ebay's advantages... also who's in charge behind the "red button" there and then willing to take a stand...) but I should believe that if they get multiple reports on the same item, it might "force" them to cancel the auction. But this, might take too much effort for in fact little results in the end. So I guess you're right.

Ebay policy is strict on selling bootlegs. Once I did send as a question to a British sellert that the copy of a northern soul oldie record he had put on auction was a bootleg. His description was not mentioning anything about it, making it very difficult even for the expert eye to tell it appart. After that he replied to me in an anoying tone because Ebay intercepted my message and understood that he was indeed selling a bootleg and so cancelled his auction. Maybe those auctions should be reported IF they do not clearly specify that it is not the real deal they are offering.

Sy Hightower 'i Wonder Why' Mix/pitched ?
Tlscapital replied to Tlscapital's topic in Look At Your Box
OK, here's a "kitchen sink" Youtube clip I just made from that Double "O" Soul compilation playing 33 RPM to show how I come to wonder about the Hayley mix. I just left the next tune after to prove it's just taken straight from that LP. Now, compare (not the sound fi though)... & the Hayley mix -
Sy Hightower 'i Wonder Why' Mix/pitched ?
Tlscapital replied to Tlscapital's topic in Look At Your Box
YES, Hayley. Thanks. Post corrected now. Cheers -
I know the song from this bootleg LP; . Always admire/love it as a second 'I know you're leaving me' wich is tremendeous. I just recently decided to give a listen to the release on the Harley 45 from both Youtube on line clips and straight on was shocked by the speed it is playing at (50 RPM or something like that). I guess those sound clips are taken from the 45 on Hayley. Even the phrasing is rac-a-tac (like machine gun) way too fast. The voice is Mickey Mosued and the music has lost all it's coolness. To my ears it is pure distortion. I would like to know if I am the only lonely one disturbed by that re "work" of the tune. And then I would also be curious as to why destroying such another great track from Sy if the 45 on Harley (if it plays like the Youtube clips) ?

Syreeta - What Love Has Joined Together / Tamla Motown
Tlscapital replied to Mal C's topic in Record Sales
First recorded by the Miracles in 1962, then other Motown acts and not only (vague memory of a reggae version as well), it was a "standard" tune to use. First issued for Syreeta on her first LP in 1972. Re-release as this 45 flip in 1975. -
Often proposed for the more traditional "OK" northern side, I always tought that this B-side holded something else, more to it or just different. Like their Excello release with the flip side hidden little jem 'he's my hero'. Admitting the Avons are not a favourite group of mine, here I find them/her rather convincing by the way she delivers her vocal talent nonchallantly on a track that seems somehow slowed down some like if time was warped. Rarer WDJ copy. 25 £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD ! (extra 6 £ to have it signed for) payment through Paypal as 'to family or friends' gradings M, EX, VG, G PM me for inquiries

The Pastels 'been So Long' Quality Sound Vg+ 25 £ Free Post
Tlscapital replied to Tlscapital's topic in Record Sales
Hey M, yes you're right, but what a great treatment on the same song to make it someting new ! Not really in the 'harmony vocal/doo wop' revival stereotype thung for the better of it. Cheers. Tim -
!!! SOLD !!! Wonderful small thing out of the windy city but that clearly is totally under the influence of the Philly sound. Reason why I also recorded the instrumental B-side that kind of reminds me of the Music Makers stuffs on Gamble. Vinyl and label are vg+ with initals written on vocal side. But it's still looks OK and plays beautiful. The soundclips are taken (kitchensink sound) from the actual record. 25 £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD ! Little Johnny Taylor Somewhere Down The Line On Dau Label Any Infos?
Tlscapital replied to Rom1's topic in Look At Your Box
Those Dutch bootlegs of "deep soul", actually made by and for the "Surinamese" music scene (so not only deep soul but many other genres as well), are less creative design-wise than this DAU or are just plain monochrome photocopies of the original label. This DAU thing "borrowing" the diamond's of the Diamond Jim logo has something audatious of a love bandit attitude to it I kinda dig. -

Tlscapital replied to Rom1's topic in Look At Your Box
Then why are all they popping up in the states and not down here in Belgium, Holland.... ? Some sort of USA boot I'd say just like Rob suppose. Most likely old boot if not contemporary to the originals to catch up on the hit sales and demand. Otherwise some sort of "revival" boots when the stocks of NOS where dried up and/or dislocated I'd believe. Eitherway, they are mindwonderer at first as catchy to the eye. Are they more of those DAU "gothic" releases out there ? -
Sons of Moses — Soul Symphony — Brunswick — DJ Ex+ xol £30 Classic Northern Soul anthem rare original Would love to see that !

!!! ON HOLD !!! Raw nervous funky soul with a real driving beat that doesn't give your feet much rest but only for few seconds half way of the song. Even though it was re-issued as a 45 (not on a stupido look-a-like) by some "smart" people when it was already a firm established DJ record all over Europe, this is the real deal in Ex++ condition. And there's an A-N-D, the treat is hidden on the other side for those who can dig deep-soul southern style with class. Just LISTEN. Sound clips not from actual record for sale. 80 £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD ! Well, the idea of showing it is to first have a glance at his 'authenticity' before going anywhere else. -

Could you provide us with a scan of this ? -
!!! SOLD !!! Truly great little sultry soul siss tunes here. On the sweet soul side of things 'you're no good' is my pick. While 'everyday worries', the official 'A' side, is more on the funky crossover board. Truly good and essential Chicago record to own. Read all those names... and give a listen to those two soundclips not taken from actual record if you don't know them. The actual vinyl sounds sharper, louder and crispier in "real life". Much better. Believe me ! 30 £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD ! (extra 6 £ to have it signed for) payment through Paypal as 'to family or friends' gradings M, EX, VG, G PM me for inquiries

Cheers for that picture Tib, Great to put faces on a song you particullary like. Even more when it's not that obvious to predict how they'd look. I had the same thing with a picture of the Martells fearuring Clifford Curry (obviously not the 'she shot a hole in y soul' guy) who recorcorded the wonderfull 'where can my baby be' on A La Carte.

Does Anyone Knows This With Something To Say About
Tlscapital replied to Tlscapital's topic in Look At Your Box
Well, the scan only was maybe a bit "too short" for the question. I've had this for some 20 years now. Bought it blind along with Cody Black 'I'm slowly moulding' for peanuts. I kinda liked it and always tought it has some potential. It sounds "black" but could be only sounding. It's defo a male vocal group even if the name don't really suggests that. Both the label and this Rainbow group/band are one of a kind as far as I know. Could be a "novelty" record of some sort. Still, would be curious to hear somebody out there knowing this record or having something to say about it. -
White (or something else) folks doing a wonderfull slice of real soulful music with a composition talking about love, life and the rest of it so indeep. Their other 45 on Chamus is more "loud" but, in IMHO, less well build all together with breaks that don't work. Like it's more "progressive" in the construction. While this one just floats. Call this pop or whatever, this one sticks beautifully to the ear and other anatomy parts like the guts, the heart and even the feets. Condition is rather clean but the flip side did suffer a TOL (that was painted blue not by my person) and bears an unaudible surface mark on vinyl. See scans; 70 £ REDUCED !!! Odd, rare and nice. One for those completists collecting labels & artists as such. Picked from a Radio stock in the states (not by me though), all the 45's had those inscriptions as to define the genre or category like 'R+B', R+R'... otherwise super clean both vinyl and label. Ex+ I can't find much about this Mayfield 45 anywhere on the net or from other sources. Musicwise I'm not convinced that it's has so much intrest. You'll find attached here a soundclip of the 'I've been trying' side (not from actual record). The flip side called 'If' is an UFO in the music field. Even more knowing it's a Curtis job. Well... So I'm open to offers (in UK £ please) on this one. I will take all offers untill saturday 31st of August 11AM CET. FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD !
