  1. I would have to put my hand on my Calla copy, but I think that even the orchestration slightly varies and her singing varies in different places also. Maybe another full take and or mix.
  2. Yes same record 'A' and 'B' sides but isn't the Aspirations credited issue rarer ?
  3. Yeah, maybe. heard it once and was put off by listening to it. It's a later cut (1971), maybe a live/gig recording of some sort with those endless twirling guitar solos. Nothing like this nitty gritty1964 studio recording.
  4. I have copy and paste the wrong thing. Here's the flip sound clip;
  5. My tip is the two sider 'help the poor' B/W 'I wouldn't have it any other way' on ABC Paramount. Not the re-recording of 'HTP' on ABC !!! bb king i wouldn't have it any other way
  6. Dear Monsieur Le Paul, I'm very grateful that you point out this anomaly. I have to accuse the administrator of the cloudfunk since on my playlist this tune is credited and that is what I pass him on. And then he missed it. The missing track is the intrigues 'I'm gonna love you' on Yew. A Philly fanatic like you... Now, this is good but I left intentionally here and there little twists to see if anybody can react. One is 'love bandit'. Listen to it again and find what's wrong with Kenya. Cheers to the wife, the cat and the house & to you.
  7. Cloudfunk is a Brussels based radio delivering daily podcasts by 7 deejays (each one having his allocated day) sharing their passion for music having for common ground the groove or the funk no matter how you call it. We have each one our musical ground, preference and/or field sort to say. But we all want to share it, wether out live, home with friends or this way; online. Home page here https://www.mixcloud.com/cloudfunk/ I'm the monday guy in the gang bringing his "45 dusties" to this cloud. My sets are not "connoisseur" or "purist" orientated but aim as much to soul freaks and/or agnostic ears. So I travel between those northern, crossover, modern and deep souls with sometime a "tongue in cheek" attitude to the politically correct "order of the day" soul police. And onto the OVO "police" subject I have nothing to hide or to be afraid of. My first 4 podcasts here below. First and fourth were taken live from DJ sets. The two in between not. https://www.mixcloud.com/Cloudfunk/timmy-soul-presents-whatever-your-soul-feels-like-01/ https://www.mixcloud.com/Cloudfunk/timmy-soul-presents-whatever-your-soul-feels-like-02/ https://www.mixcloud.com/Cloudfunk/timmy-soul-presents-whatever-your-soul-feels-like-03/ https://www.mixcloud.com/Cloudfunk/timmy-soul-presents-live-n-kicklin/
  8. List & picture don't match on some-few-most !?
  9. Cheers Soulman58, I'm not hot under the collar at all. When something is hammered and amplified some more and you might be tempted to show there's another way of seeing it; DO IT ! Mind you, no replies from me to follow-ups (hot-n-rude under the collar) or references to previous and/or later aggressive posts. I don't need to get into an endless dispute where there's no argumentation to be given to insinuations in place of arguing with given opinions. I just wanted to speak my peace and make it clear as to where I stand with such topics/products as others did also. To make it clear to those who read what i didn't write; the dancers were good dancers IMO, I have nothing against THE youth, I am not old, only 43 ! And I do have friends who like stuffs I don't music-wise also. We get along fine and have good talk, laughs and joy doing so. And finally I never justify myself; I share.
  10. That's right ! Top 2 originals, bottom boot !
  11. Check Wikipédia...
  12. Those dancers might not have been "pros", but like said above, the customized show made them look like some caricatures. Sorry for them, but true to my eyes. Just like Pharrell, who's only pro to show his "me, myself and I" face since 10 years or so all over the TV's. Now it's been two month since that "happy" got more and more plays on airs and all over and now it's getting a bit hammering to my ears. At first I found it funny to see the barmaid humming to it while serving me my Guiness. Other people a bit into music coming to me about it and me pointing them to listen to the one on Snoozi (to make them maybe realize what a genius Pharrell Williams really is) even if I never liked the Velvet Hammer in the first place. Now I hope no one out there plays this out at northern SOUL (the most important word out of the 2) nights. I hope and pray it's only a too expensive 45 for those DJ's who need to have it on 45 to distinguish themselves (the original is CD though) and play a convenient tune to bring together all those who can't get on a records that didn't achieve "universal" acknowledgment status yet. I may always have been old as such, I never have been into drugs (legal and not), but I always enjoyed music and danced to when it suited me. I have nothing against old or young people tall or small, large or thin... I truly believe that young blood is always needed to keep any boat afloat, but if a critic can't be formulate more on the base of "like or not" but on a dreadful show like the Brit Awards, I mean let's go mainstream all the way if that's the way 4 NS. It's been tried/done/dropped before wasn't it ? ...
  13. I sended him that box of 175 copies of the promo way back then and agreed to be paid with small round flat black pieces of plastic. Got very few things and then he vanished. So I'd love to hear from the man. I heard later that Tim Brown bought a lot or all his backstock. I was told that I wasn't the only one in such a situation with Gary !
  14. OK then, any news or sights from Gary SMELTS lately ?
  15. Gary from Blacknight records ?
  16. I'm gonna put it in my sales box and advertise it as a bootleg (the better one) still worth a buy. I can't feel comfortable enough to say nothing or to lie. Here I am.
  17. Just to finish my point; I went and dug out my copy and it's the same as above. Totally forgot about that since I only dig out 'my little girl' which I much prefer to play home and out. I've played it again then and it's not low-fi like the white label boot but the volume is indeed too low. I've bought this very copy in London some 20+ years ago. Last and least, one copy like those on evil-bay was from Canada but read final line on the screen capture...
  18. I doubt it's genuine. For the fact that the printing for the credits is 'shakey' while the rest is for some reason clear and sharp. Secondly all the demos and issues that are defo originals of 'ICGA' are styrene. All the light blues (Jimmy Thomas…) Mirwoods are all boots and some deeper blues are also (Performers…) both have wrong typos. The sandy white label with a cheap photocopy type label (Bobby G 'ICGA') is low-fi even to the groove. Finally, all the vinyl copies that look like this one sold on evil-bay (according to a quick check on Popsike) were sold from sellers base in the UK. Not all Mirwood apparently had both vinyl and styrene release. For instance I have not heard of a styrene for the Sheppards nor a vinyl of the the Belles 'DP' like Solidsoul said here. But it is indeed relevant in my belief to raise to questions from time to time since as a collector, those rare pressings do exists and sometimes wrong assertions can be proved wrong. Then according of what and how you want it, begin a maybe unfortunate but still appropriate quest for the desired format.
  19. My own copy that was NOS in a box (25) counting one by one all the Bell releases (mostly demos) by the catalogue numbers. So it was played only by me with the caution of a music and collector lover. So that explains the surealistic M--- grading which is really rather an Ex+ (real nice label (no wear) and styrene (no scuffs)). Listen to actual audio-clips with my push side first and the actual real 'A' side ! Offers start at 250 £ Payment through Paypal or Bank transfer in €uros ! https://soundcloud.com/user34967829/john-edwards
  20. Same here.
  21. OK, it's only vg+ (with Ex grading) with scuffs and few hairlines scratches that causes 'tics' (no 'tacs' or jumps off course) but it's is still clean enough to sit in a collection and strong enough to DJ with without having to blush behind the decks. Hence the price for a piece that is not so common and still "under the radar". Both sides with my push side for the "deep" side; 'the China doll' and the groovy; 'baby you're right' groovy side here below; https://soundcloud.com/user34967829/helena-hollis-the-china-doll-b 40 (was 50) £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD ! (extra 6 £ to have it signed for) payment through Paypal as 'to family or friends' gradings M, EX, VG, G PM me for inquiries Again only vg+ with few scuffs and no scratches but on the flip-side there's a 'dent' or 'punch' (see scan) mark that was 'flattened' (not by me) to the result you hear light 'tics' playing over that 'dent' but with no other disadvantage to play the song throughout. So, this is deep soul and then some... just listen... and again produced by none other than Bill Doggett for a rather unexpected by most appreciated result "southern style". https://soundcloud.com/user34967829/toni-williams-precious-minutes 20 (was 25) £ FREE POST TO ALL OVER THE WORLD !
