  1. Its been only highs for me. I've got into a brilliant scene and met loads of really nice people. Been lucky enough to get to cleethorpes and hemsby weekenders and been a regular at the new century nights and got over to sheridans a few times. And just to top it off, got an ipod for christmas so im currently busy trying to fill 10,000 tracks on it. Have a good new year everyone.
  2. Me and my girlfriend might be needing a lift for the new years bash cos Reg might not be going. Can get over to manchester if thats any good for anyone. If anyone has any room it would be much appreciated. Cheers.
  3. Bought this my dad for christmas. Wasn;t impressed at all. Expected to see some vintage footage and clips but instead we were greated with the remixed versions of each song and a laughable, modern day hand held camcorder video effort. What a disapointment and a total rip off. This DVD could put you off for life if you'd not heard the music before. Stay well clear everyone!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Thanks folks. I've taken it all on board. If any of you see me out then you can point me in the right direction.
  5. Whats the best way to start getting into buying record. I have recently been given about twenty singles off Dave Ferguson from burnley and that has made me want to get into the old collecting game. But my knowledge of lables and prices, etc, is zero. Anyone got any tips?
  6. Will it def be ok to pay on the door cos im worrying that it will be a packer. Is there a warm up going on before hand anywhere.
  7. I personally cant bloody stand modern but i suppose you start looking for new sounds whwn you've been on the scene for a good length of time. I cant really see a link between modern and northern. They are two different types of music in my opinion and dont fit together too well.

    Oldies

i love oldies. They are the tracks that i remember most from growing up and my dad having them on all the time. With being new to the scene oldies are like newies for me so im not fed up of hearing them like most of you will be. That means that its pretty hard for me to dislike any night i go to( unless its rnb!!!)! Loved the hemsby weekender cos i got to hear a lot of oldies that normally dont get played very often.
  9. What a bloody good do. Was planning to go to keele but not now
  10. Alright mate, my dad was about on the soul scene from early 70's. He lived in burnley( not far from mcr) and went to all the venues at that time. im sure he'd be happy to have a short interview. this is his email. brian.barker@smiths-burnley.com
