  1. To be able to go back in time and sit in the studio and watch the Funk Brothers jammin all those years ago.
  2. Im in love with your daughter New york in the dark My little girl Three songs that i cant stop listening too at the moment. Copied my dads entire cd collection onto my ipod and every now and then a song will pop up and blow me away. In Orbit is another one of my current faves.
  3. Whilst lying in bed soaking up the quality morning tv i found the ultimate lookilikey, Rich Buckley is the absolute double of Matthew Wright.

  7. We've had a couple of threads on "famous" soul fans (famous being used very loosely!) but who are the lookalikes on the soul scene? Ill get the ball rolling Mr Higgins - Harry Potter (obvious i know!)
  8. Lionel Ritchie- dancing on the ceiling He was on motown wasn't he?
  9. Travellers tune by ocean colour scene is a quality tune that has a 60's feel. Avalanches album is top too. Lent it someone and never got it back! Bloody buggers
  10. Well Father, i would have to go for Sandi Sheldon. After the alien and had a listen to that he wouldn't be going back home thats for sure.
  11. I posted a thread on this at christmas. Its enough to scare you off for life really. Try the rare soul dvd's vol 1+2. These are original performances from back in the day. Really worth getting.
  12. Ah thanks Shane. By the way, you seem to be quite interested in Big Colin. If you want ill PM you his number. Remember, just because you like a kiss and a cuddle with a man, it doesn't mean you're gay! P.S, im hoping to be out a bit before christmas. Should be at the Derby all dayer celebrating the end of university life, so you can buy me a pint!
  13. Big Colin was never any good at cleaning. Always brushing things under the sofa. Half a job Bob i used to call him. Good bloody riddance i say.
  14. Now im no John Travolta, but i've never been scared to dance. But when i think back to my first few all niters it makes me cringe. I thought i was the dogs b******s on the dance floor. Arms were going everywhere and didn't have a clue what to do with my feet but i thought i would easily pass as a northern dancer. Reg will prob back me up on this one! I was terrible! But nobody ever mentioned it, or laughed or gave me a "who's that bloody nutter" look. And thats the good thing about the soul scene. Everyone dances their own way and as long as you're having fun, who cares!
  15. Bobby Hebb - love love love. I've never heard it played out. Fantastic tune.
  16. Last exam is mid may, so that weekend will be spent dancing.
  17. Im safe and sound steve. Been skint and had loads on, so decided to be a sensible lad and keep off the all niters until my exams are over.
  18. What a horrible avatar you have dave. Almost as bad as your taste in football teams.
  19. Jimmy Cliff - Waterfall.
  20. Being tied to a tree is the least of your worries. Wait till you see what we do with our banjo's! Once thats over and done with, ill hand you over to my good friend Big Collin!
  21. Banjos, bloody suicide squad! Too many people on this site are Burnleyist and regionalist. I can count on both hands and one foot hand the amount of times i've encountered a banjo. Good job im thick skinned..... Keep them coming. There's a prize for the person who can come up with the most abusive one....
  22. Colins not a fan. He's more into DIY SOS and the likes.
  23. There's not much i dont watch on tv. Its quite a decent program.
  24. No angels, the program about nurses that was on the other night had loads of northern and motown the whole way through. It did last series too.
  25. Too bloddy right!
