  1. PM'd you. These shows were excellent. Until I heard them, I wasn't really aware the scene was still vibrant with new records still being discovered. Remember, Ady being a guest and being blown away when he played Terry Callier - Look At Me Now , Lorraine Chandler - You Only Live Twice, Ben E King - Getting To Me, Maxine Brown - Torture and not forgetting the fantastic Carla Thomas- I'll Never Stop Lovin You- how's that for a bunch of not heard before tunes? Hope something turns up online but if not I do have an archive of these shows but not in an electronic format at present. I do have MP3 clips of Ady relating the story about how he came across the Ben E King acetate in the West End, playing the track followed by the best cut of Lorraine Chandler - You Only Live Twice and Richard Searling introducing and playing Kenny Lewis - Not The Marrying Kind which are both great and if it's legit to share them eg on soundcloud and someone can upload them, please let me know and I'll PM them the MP3's. ATB Mike
  2. Classic 6T's garage https://youtu.be/tHyGVEXmJGc
  3. Not original but there's " The Beat Route " This is one of mine "Beat n Blockers"
  4. That's what I thought. I had a look at your thread from January when you bought a copy for £6.00 and was hoping I might get this cheapish as there were no bidders yesterday when the opening was $100. I think I'd make a useless record dealer!
  5. https://www.ebay.co.u...cvip=true&rt=nc I bid fairly large on this today but was still outbid! Haven't had much luck bidding for top 500 on ebay. I was a little unsure about it after placing the bid as there is no reference in the listing to it being original or to the stamp under the label so searched popsike where there is a listing for a 70t's boot (40$ ) although the photo for that listing showed a white/cream label with red lettering which according to JM's guide is an original issue. I was a bit relieved that I lost in the end as I was gonna sell it and ultimately there wouldn't have been much left over. What do others think? Has someone bought a dud? Hope the link works.
  6. What do music critics know ? Gradually discovering his stuff and came across this one today. https://youtu.be/i30M4GQa_Tk
  7. We also stayed at the Joshua Tree Inn but didn't fancy using Gram's room. A lovely youngish couple were running it then ( 2007 ) but it was up for sale for about $1M I think. Would love to live near that desert and look forward to returning someday. Something magical about Joshua Tree. ATB Mike
  8. Must be. They did a couple of singles pre Gram joining the band and cutting Safe At Home. I only know that after reading the liner notes on my CD copy of the album.
  9. As said already, excellent interview. Incredible to think he had no new product after 1979 when he was only 29! Hope he did or does get an opportunity to work on fresh material as he said he wanted to do. Looking forward to his gig at the 100 Club in November.
  10. Look at my YouTube Channel ( link below ) there's plenty of northern on there and footage of an all nighter at the 100 club in London - should give you an idea.
  11. Don't get me wrong, I do quite like Baby Don't Cry and know it's collectable/valuable having searched Popsike, but I just think it's quite derivitive whereas their earlier Lovin Lies is a bit of an oddity I feel with the " dub " sounding echoes on the vocals and the breakdown to kick drum, snare and vocals in the middle which I think was quite unusual for the period ( 1968 ). I do confess to having recently come across The Third Guitar and buying Lovin Lies, inexpensively.
  12. The Third Guitar - Baby Don't Cry is a "breaks" track . Nothing like as good as their Lovin Lies/ Sad Girl which can be got for £20.
  13. I would say this but there are some great tunes on my Youtube Channel. Click on the link below. Willie Tee - First taste Of Hurt would be recommended. Congratulations on your wedding BTW.
  14. There's one for sale here - not mint only VG https://www.soulshack...eywords=darrell banks&category=Tbl_Artist.Artist_Name&Cat_id=&Artist_id=&r_dis=5&Sort=aa
  15. Still very fond of Bob & Macia - Young Gifted & Black , Desmond Dekker - It Mek/ Israelites, Nora Dean - Barbwire, Pioneers - Long Shot which are all on my mp3 player. And loads of others which used to make me want to get high and lay in a hammock.
  16. She's been involved with many of my fave bands & artists - Stones, Led Zep, Humble Pie, Pink Floyd, George Harrison, Nick Drake, Dusty. Respect!
  17. https://www.allmusic....es-mn0000787492 Hi Billy According to this link - Dawn Y'know Tie A Yellow Ribbon . Hopefully see you Friday night. ATB Mike
  18. Had one posted on 23/7/12 from Fenton MO arrive yesterday and another posted 18/7/12 from Greenville SC arrive today. The second one I paid for on about 4/7/12 so it took the seller a couple of weeks to actually post the record. I'm in London.
  19. This a fairly reasonable crossover track. It's on my You Tube Channel if you want to hear it - click link below
  20. Enjoyed those clips - very credible performances particularly IICOBS.
  21. The thing with Terry Callier is that he is a bona fide artist who actually composes his own songs, still making records and gigging as far as I know. This clip is just extraordinary - flip to Look At me Now. I appreciate real artistry - probably why I like Bob Dylan, Led Zepplin et al and good soul music, staying up all night and ......... Edit ( silly comment removed ).
  22. Not overly keen on Ordinary Joe myself but I think that Look At Me Now is as good as it gets. Isn't he a critically acclaimed musician and composer? ATB Mike
  23. Any particular Terry Callier track you are referring to or just him generally? If the latter, that's daft.
  24. Hi Steve Your friends might enjoy Madame Jo Jo's in Brewer St, Soho ,W1 not far from 100 Club. . Haven't been myself but have heard good reports. BTW liked your sets at the last 100 Club https://www.madamejoj...ood_foot/about/ https://www.madamejoj...nd_found/about/
