Got a Congress white demo copy of Patti & The Emblems - Its The Little Things/Easy Come Easy Go up for trade/swap. Don't see many these come up for sale anymore....One of these went for £300 odd quid the other week on Manships auctions, so in demand at the moment. Grading: "Its The Little..." side has few scuffs but plays great from start to finish. VG++ The "Easy Come..." side has a few small scratches right at the start that causes some pop/clicks, refer to the Youtube link to have a listen, otherwise plays great. VG+ Labels are in nice condition, images illustrate condition I'm after an oldie in a similar condition and value, but tunes I'm after at the moment are Fluffy Falana - My Little Cottage, Herbert Hunter - I Was Born To Love You Ritchie Adams - I Cant Escape From You Percy Wiggins - It Didnt Take Much Servicemen - I Need A Helping Hand or any other oldies that might be of interest. YouTube videos can be found at https://www.youtube.com/user/MrSoultime66

Kev The only difference between the mentioned printed publishing names is that there were label variations on different presses. The St Lawerence label pressed under different publishing names which would correlate to different pressing plants in and out of the Chicago area. There are also white demo copies with just the "Overcome" publishing name printed on the label, have a gander at this webpage, and youll see different variations on demos and issues. https://www.45cat.com/record/nc636488us I'm a bit of an anorak guy when it comes to collecting, not a complete expert (only been in the collecting game since 1979) and Ive not always been right but my gut instinct tells me there is nothing suspicious about all of this i.e. all variations of Mamie are originals. Plus Brown and Manship guide state nothing, and its been years since so many copies of this oldie have circulated round! To resume, "Overcome Publishing Co." and "Cragvee and Overcome" would amount to nothing more than different pressing plants but both original presses at the time of release. Hope that makes sense....

Ian , hang on mate youve got an original there, theres no boot of Mamie as such that is similar say to the Johnny Sayles boot (no address on bottom of label) The original Chris L showed in his scan is just another press variation of the St Lawerence label. The address is present on your copy across the top section of the label, sell accordingly as an original mate, its not a boot from what i can tell unless someone has devised up some sort of sophisticated bootleg making machine in the last year or so! The release number above the lateral line is just a misprint I'd say, check out Popsike and see what other copies look like and you'll see. Just thought i'd tell you so that you know, need more proof check Manships entries for Mamie Galore https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/search/Artist/GALORE%252C%2BMAMIE/all/1 Look at the first record "Too Many Memories" and youll see your label variation! My copy of It Aint Necessary also has the same label type, its an original. hope this helps.

Nice to see someone has got the balls to do something different and play some underplayed or cheaper tunes! You look at Soul Bowl lists from 70s/80s and they were all cheap back then and became biggies years later! I had a copy of Wade Flemons - Jeanette in a soul bowl pack back in the early 80s (cost a pittance), didnt even know at the time what i had in my hands til it became much bigger many years later! The same I believe applies to the cheap, semi known, underplayed or whatever you want to call it tunes that need their big break. And its not like the cheap good stuff is all on common well known labels, there are some real lesser known small labels with great tunes on them.....e.g. The Four Sonics- Where Are You on Triple B label - a fantastic Ashford and Chandler production that can be bought for next to nothing (well used to be) and is a great tune. Anyway, keep this thread going as im sure it'll convert a few more middle aged soulies that are set in their ways!
