I bought a Royal jesters "Use your head" in VG cond for probably alot more than any guide has it at mint but I hadnt seen one in 7 years anywhere so I suppose I went daft cos Im feckin mad!

Thought Wounded woman was £15-£20 max for the same sided demo and for the issue with the b-side it was £80-£100 Very underated record IMO

How about the "Rough Guide to hitting someone over the head with a book" I know afew people who would buy that!

Im not against John making a living- We all have to do that but its about the value for money aspect and on this occasion I think john has been opportunist. What is the point of having JM price guide if it does not guide! A lot of people slated levine for the four vandals disc especially when certian people had paid alot of money for it. Levine had an alterior motive to do what he did but back to the root of it If you are arespected dealer with price guide to hand why would you allow this xmas toy opportunism spoil your 30 years of credibilityas the leading knowledge on soul records and values to boot. The record is not rare as been established- relatively new release - It is not Lester Tipton, Admirations etc as john has admitted he has had lots of phone calls so he bumped it onto his auction where he knows it will be fought over. If you look at my previous post I said I ma looking forward to seeing Jimmy James want you so much on his auction. If he only had 2 copies and got 500 calls would he bump that onto his auction. Just wanted to see peoples reaction- Dont hink Ill lay it out at pitch 4 then- Just listen to it at home! Evryone have agood weekend - Im off to celebrate an old soulies 40th birthday. Ive got acopy of Lorraine Johnson - Can I hold you to it on Atlantic Its more of a ballad but if you pitch it up to +4 on the decks its about the same speed as the Panic is on Is this acceptable to play in your set. I think it actually makes it sound better but would like to hear peoples opinion and other records that pitched up are quite useful for djing! Cheers
