  1. Anyone interested in a 70's Soul Stop issue of ' Nine times out of ten ' sprayed florescent green and purple, i'll take £150 for it.
  2. Anyone watching the Eddie Foster on IN records (pressed on multi-coloured vinyl) ending tonight - already £250, why ?? It's still a PRESSING, a non-legal 45, may look very pretty and desirable, but why is it going to go for such a ridiculous amount, another case of the Johnny come lately collectors with more cash than sense ?!?
  3. Revelation different record altogether !
  4. GOT ONE, NICE ORANGE ISSUE, DUKE 436, wasn't particularly thinking of selling it, but probably would if you offered a decent price ? let me know.
  5. Can you send the list to jporter1960@talktalk.net - thanks.
  6. Sounds like being thrown off a very high building would be too good for Mr. Soul institution !
  7. Is this Soul Sam you are on about, Atlantic Starr fantastic sound, the other 2 cover versions of 60's classics, obviously had to have some spins as new versions. Always been a mix of great Soul sounds and questionable dirge, Wigan, Peterboro', Stafford, etc.
  8. Yes, 'James' was a well known character at EASC niters, complete and utter lunatic, used to sell Mini bargain surprise Soul packs of several 45's all wrapped up prior to sale, and when you opened them up, mostly knackered, cracked, and crap pop music !! Also used to get on his hands and knees on the floor when a favourite sound of his came on, and mentally beat his fists on the dancefloor to the beat !?!
  9. I like the Banana Splits theme song
  10. Not too sure that Martha Starr or E. Laskey have ever been booted ??
  11. Interesting that Mike Post Coalition was dearer then than a number of much better and rarer items , like Martha Starr, and Emanuel Lasky, and isn't that Soul Partners 45 several hundred pounds ?!?
  12. Surely Keanya Collins shouldn't be on that list ?!? Always liked this, class 70's sound.
  13. Do we really need to put a label on all and everything, surely everybody on the scene likes Soul Music, and some want to dance, others not so much. I personally enjoy a lot of most forms of Black music i hear, and if i want to dance i will, or if not, i'll go to the bar again. Enjoy what you like !!
  14. Loads of great Motown sounds from the late 70's and the 80's, on US and UK labels, here's a few I like - Major lance - ' I never thought I'd be losing you ' // Temptations - I'm comin' home ' / Temps - ' Aiming at your heart' // Willie Hutch - ' In and out ' // Bobby King - ' Lovequake ' // Bobby Womack - ' Tell me why ' // Rick James - ' Don't give up on love '
  15. Hi, don't suppose you still have a James Coit available ?
  16. The Rare Soul Scene on its last legs ? How many years will it keep going, I wonder. Years of the same records being played over and over again, not enough decent venues playing different, forgotten, underplayed gems, too many DJ's with large egos and tunnel vision, and hundreds of narrow minded, blinkered oldies and R&B boys haven't helped, not to mention there being around 200 Soul Nites on every weekend, most playing the old tired and tested !!
  17. Think if I'd won a 4 figure 45 for peanuts,I'd wait until it was in my hands before I advertised the fact to half the world ! (Seller could easily have seen your SS blogs, or a vindictive fellow collector may have tipped him off, and offered slightly more) !! Good luck.
  18. I have Ralph Johnson on Master Key, superb crossover sound - and I don't wish to sell it.
  19. Anyon?e know how much a nice clean copy of Hip-Delic 313, Jimmie 'Preacher' Ellis ' Thats the way I am ' should sell for

  23. Often digging out 45's I've half forgotten or not played for ages - just been spinning (out of the attic) LITTLE TOMMY ' LOV'H' / ' I'M HURT ' (Sound of Soul) / PINKOOSHINS ' MAKE IT EASY ' (Mercury) / TIMI YURO ' CAN'T STOP RUNNING AWAY ' (UK Mercury) ... and PATTI STOKES (Mir-a-don) !
  24. I've got a Millie Jackson for sale for £195 then, if anyone is interested !!!
  25. A lot of the Johnny-come-latelys to the scene seem to either have no grasp of the desire to collect original issue 45's compared to reissues, or simply do not care. I remember a few years ago on Ebay 2 copies of Ann Sexton on the orange/black 77 label went for more than the yellow one, on the same night ! Recently i've struggled to get any offers on nice, clean orig 45's like Al Kent, Greg Perry, Melvin Elling, but see endless later and recent reissues sell easily !?!
