Spinning a few at home tonight before 100 tomorrow.

I always liked ' Black Power ' - at least it was a PROPER 60'S BLACK TUNE that was spun in the late 70's during a deluge of obscure poppy 60's UK dirge ! -

Always thought the name of this site was SOULsource, don't quite know why groups like Buffalo Springfield and Queereen are being mentioned, are things really getting this bad in our scene !?!?!?

Also gold paint on some US Tangerine 45's

Was there last summer, didn't find anything very rare, but a fair few £15 - £40 things, try Grooves on Market St, Amoeba in the Haight, and Groove Merchant. Rooky Ricardos shut , not sure if it has reopened. A number of decent stores in Oakland across the bay, quite accessible by train or ferry, try Hercules records, Alcatraz Ave.

Any tips on the best shipping option to send a pricey 45 to the USA with full insurance and tracking, and are there export taxes to be paid (looks like conflicting info on the internet), Thanks.

An obvious cover version that I can't see mentioned is TIMI YURO'S brilliant niter atmospheric version of Baby Washington ' It'll never be over for me ', I like most of B. Washington's stuff, but this is a fairly rare case of a blue-eyed (brown-eyed ?) singer out-souling and easily out-northering a black singer. (As in the case of Paul Anka v Jimmy Breedlove, perhaps another topic on this subject awaiting comment.)

Good version (of many) of Little Anthony and Imperials, but they all pale into insignificance IMHO compared to the monumental take by THE DELFONICS !

Don't really understand some peoples view on what qualifies as a NS sound, whether you like and rate the record or not, even it is seen as commercial or a small chart hit, Move On Up was played at the Casino, so surely that only defines it as a northern sound ?!? Too many on here commenting on things that they haven't got the experience or time spent on the scene to really form a true and valid opinion.

Hi Neil, got a pretty decent copy, MGM K 13881 black issue, vinyl looks and plays excellent, tiny bit of label 'crumbling' at the top (barely noticeable). Really wanted £40 for it. let me know. Jez.
