  1. No worries Kirsty If anyone else wants the MP3 just mail me girthdevon@ntlworld.com and i'll send it over. Cheers Girth
  2. I posted a load earlier today and for single 45s or single LPs there is very little difference with the new pricing. I think for 4 or 5 LPs it may even work out cheaper than before. All that panic for nothing then !!! Girf
  3. I'll put one up later for ya - are we allowed to put sounds up again ?? Girf
  4. I think we're drinking from the same fountain Dave
  5. Not sure if I have either not in one of my sets anyway Girf
  6. I had both records out this afternoon and played em back to back - identical backing and both have quality vocals - if JR Bailey is a better record, its by a hair's width IMO ??. Would you dance harder, wilder or more passionately to JR Bailey than the Universal Joint ?? My only reason for considering selling the Universal Joint is cos having recently picked up the JR Bailey I don't see much point in having both, and I can buy something else with the extra cash for the Universal Joint.....simple as that Girf
  7. Did Baz get it though - said reserve was not met. Girf
  8. Is that between £50 & £400, Gail Try again..... Girf
  9. Nice to see we're all agreed then........somewhere between £50 & £400. Ain't this just typical of some titles these days..... Girf
  10. Hi all - can anyone give me an idea of value on this rare version of JR Bailey's outing on Calla Cheers Girth
  11. Hi Sean - mine shows R 5006 A / R 5006 B in the runout - no mastered stamp or anything else at all. Cheers Girth
  12. Doesn't Craig ship the packages or records for Europe in one large lot, to Germany or something like that & then they are distributed individually from there ??? keeps the cost per packet down - sure I heard something like that ?? Girf
  13. Which incidently was the first dance at my wedding.......a very special record in our house Cheers Girth
  14. Been playing this on & off for years - its on his Philly Int LP and also appears as a 45, although not easy to find. If it takes off in a big way I can see people paying $$$ for the 7. Cheers Girth
  15. You've obviously not heard any decent modern soul DJ's then Girf
  16. Didn't he fall out with the Jazz & Groove boys for some reason or another ?? his only other release of note (that I recall) was this one with 7th District Inc. Must be this mix. Well worth hunting down. https://www.discogs.com/release/260916 Girf
  17. This is a great site for deciphering mixes, cat no. etc https://www.discogs.com & straight to the Urban Blues page https://www.discogs.com/artist/Urban+Blues+Project the UBP Classic Mix is the mix that was always huge with the soul boys - althought the Original Vibe Mix was always my choice - this only appears on AM:PM & if you go for the promo double pack you get both. Deliver Me is also worth checking with Proctor on vocals - and Testify with Jay Williams Cheers Girth
  18. Razzy's version was/is a huge Lacy Lady / Caister anthem.......also covered by The Sound Of Shoom (aka Danny Rampling) in the early 90s........ Girf
  19. I bet you have.....gotta coupla copies you'd like to see the back of Girf
  20. That's an easy one to spot Steve - no lights - how about lifting the needle about a mm off the record. That's a bastard to work out And my mate Bob's favourite - taking the whole headshell off (both if your playing a CD) and waving them at you from the back of the room. Good for about half a minutes embarrassed silence at least. Not that I need help in that dept Girf
  21. Are you sure Wally ???? Your not thinking of the Johnny Bristol version on 12" ??? Girf
  22. Without knowing the full details why the high bidder was bypassed, its difficult to say - but if I were he, and I was not given a reasonable chance to pay, I would be extremely pissed off. Really depends on how long after he offered you the records - a month later then fine.......3 days later and I would have asked if he thought he had given the high bidder reasonble time to complete the deal. Girf
  23. And I just spotted (was away on hols when it finished) that it ended @ a bit over £100 !!!! whats that all about then Girf
  24. Off the top of my head Act One - 'It Takes Both Of Us' is great - numerous Garland Green with my fave being 'Just Loving You'. There were a couple of great compilations from the late 80s / early 90s which included both those tracks and some other Spring sides. Compiled by Bill Shannon I think. Cheers Gareth I'd forgotten this was on Spring - had it for years on UK Brunswick - top tune !! Girf
  25. The Land Of Hits issue @ £8 is more than likely a recent bootleg. Girf
