  1. And what about We Can Work It Out - on the flipside of Kissing You UK 12" - only ???? Great tune!! Girfy
  2. The seller is a friend of mine from Brighton, more of a disco / rare groove / jazz etc dealer, LPs & 12".....doesn't normally deal in northern or 45s much...but I can vouch he is absolutely 100% to be trusted. Cheers Gareth
  3. A surefire spin for me in recent years......A New Chapter, Soul Essence & Monumental........mine came from Soul Bowl for a very reasonable price. First to spin at Essence was Rod Dearlove I think, I'm sure Mark 'TGA' H can confirm. Girf
  4. Mark Houghton played it this weekend in Bilbao - sounded very good again. Girf
  5. George Smith is nice....i've only ever seen my own copy & one spare that I sold 2 or 3 years back. Got it off Ebay for $5.... Cheers Girth
  6. Click on Auction in the Menu on the left hand side - and then click on 'finishing next week'. Your just looking at the items finishing this week. Chars Girf
  7. His Fireball 45 - Can I Be Your Squeeze - is one of my fave funk 45s. And was used as the backing to a fight scene in an episode of the cult UK comedy 'Garth Marenghi's Darkplace'.....
  8. your right, I wasn't..... Definitely a case of a very high profile listing going berzerk......and if you check all the other LPs he was listing, I don't think there was any doubt that it was an originally sealed first press. He had a alot of really nice & rare original albums, a right mix of genre's & classic artists, most in brilliant condition and most importantly, all listed at the same time. Just look at the counter - over 3000 hits on it. Have a look at some of the other LPs he sold..at prices way over what you would normally expect. Girf
  9. Allo Richard - One of a series of 10 or 12 ?? PIR reissue 12s brought out a few years back, thru Passion Music / Ralph Tee. You should still be able to pick up most quite cheaply. And just spotted you did Cheers Girf
  10. Lunatics - Its not as if its that good anyway Girf
  11. And careful with the Garfield - many of the original issue 12s have a press fault that makes them jump & in my experience, its tough to find 7" copies that don't have needle wear - being styrene. I don't recall ever seeing a vinyl 45 ??? Girf
  12. You really wanna watch out for the LPs on the Beverly & Duane, Margie & Ronn Matlock.....killer tunes on every one. Girf
  13. Worth noting that I found the Saadia press to be significantly lower in volume than the Phil L.A. of Soul copy. On the copies I had anyway. Brill record. Girf
  14. So so huge on the two step scene of the late 80s/early 90s....
  15. Current TK faves are the George & Gwen McCrae LP with Winners Together & Mechanical Body..... Little Beaver - Groove on And this little gem Girf
  16. Have a look & listen on this previous thread. Should confuse you even more /index.php?showtopic=37337 Girf
  17. Would agree with Channel 3 - def an early crossover spin - altho Magic Night i've always thought of as 70s northern. Lacking that crossover feel..... Girf
  18. Always an interesting subject and one that has been discussed at great length on here before - i'm sure a quick search would pull it up. Not sure if those 'unknown singers' knew they had a 'gritty hardcore traditional rare soul sound' to lose tho' ^_^ . I put it down to natural progression of the music, producers & new technology. Girf
  19. A fave of mine too but I haven't played it in an age....must go dig it out. Girf
  20. And issues of his "I'm So Much In Love With You" which have "Yes You Need Love" on the flip - rarer than "Hey Baby" I think. Girf
  21. As far as i'm aware this was around in some quantity in the early 90s & would be sitting in many collections. Certainly had many copies come thru Crazy Beat over the years. Girf
  22. First heard it via Gary.....then missed a copy that came thru the shop, sure he sold it @ about 20 quid......missed 3 or 4 copies since then at ever increasing amounts. Not including these recent ones. When did you wangle it out of him ??? Please don't tell me it was when I was still there...... Girf
  23. Always loved this Polydor obscurity......
  24. The f*cker is i've known this record for well over 10 years and missed every copy i've ever seen for sale. Think it was about 20 quid the first time.......sod paying the best part of a grand for it now. Girf
