  1. Stretching the definition a little too far? https://www.ebay.com/itm/popcorn-northern-soul-EDMUNDO-ROSS-ORCH-SUMMERTIME-MINT-soundclip-/151149108513?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item2331305d21
  2. Sadly, and I know Kev will agree, the replacement show will be pretty much the same standard oldies coming round with ever-increasing frequency, don't dare to play anything Mrs. Gladys Twatt can't sing the words to, with a few asinine pre-recorded links from someone who knows even less thrown in...cynical? Moi? Yep, been there....:-(
  3. Nor me as long as they make the effort - was at Gloucester niter last night, a mixture of hardcore soulies and locals, all just having a good time, I did have to go and have a word with one younger couple about drinks on the dancefloor but they immediately took notice...:-)
  4. That one nearly caught me as well...80% BTW...:-)
  5. And that's the problem with the visual aspect Pete - when I'm out I rarely see those at venues, but people looking ordinary, old,fat and bald (delete as applicable) don't make good telly I suppose!
  6. Whatever the reaction, just remember that "they" (outsiders) never got it in the 70's, and even with the best of intentions probably don't get it now...we're lucky, we do (I think :-) )
  7. Loving this - both sides good but "You and me" is the side I'm hammering on t'radio! Well worth it!
  8. Surprised to see Lady M in Pat's set - can't remember hearing that played often?
  9. Thanks Dave, but believe me, I've made all these mistakes myself, they still happen if I get a later spot...:-)
  10. Go for it Tim, i know I bought Edition 1 in Manchester at the time, still re-read it every so often!
  11. Due to the start time, I'm pretty sure most of the locals never saw us! Hows about a blue(y) plaque at Sandbach Services? :-)
  12. Cheers for that Dean - like you, mine was bought back at the time it was getting plays, looks like mine IS the boot (or repress because of the label differences?)...not that I really thought otherwise...
  13. According to Mr. Manship, it was, slightly unclear but possibly the boot is in mono?
  14. Can someone confirm this for me please? "Mama's baby " plays in stereo, run out reads LH-9016 ST. Other side matrix reads LH-9015 CST, then in slightly backward sloping letters P 1972 B & B RECORDS. Is it legit or a boot?
  15. Somewhere on top of the wardrobe I've got a cinema sized poster from Jackie Wilson's appearance at the Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park, London, early 70's...personally signed as well as we crashed his dressing room! :-)
  16. Yes, the third boot (with the B-side) has an oversized "Nashville Matrix" scratched in...
  17. Out of interest, what's the going rate at the mo for a UK demo?
  18. Ian Clark had one on a recent list...
  19. ...and then you get into the area of false matrix stamps...Voices of east Harlem caught me out when I were much younger and even more stupid :-)
  20. OK, sorry mate, I forgot about that!
  21. Bugger! that's my secret gone! :-)
  22. At 3am in a darkened room with a befuddled head? :-)
  23. Never found Coasters boot too hard to spot Pete, one (normally excellent) dealer I've used for years had one in his sales box t'other week, but when I pointed it out, even to the delta number, he wouldn't accept it wasn't the original!
