  1. You're right first time Pete - if you're thinking of "Get it", an instumental. Came out here on Action of course.
  2. T'other night at Soulfusion Mart Taylor (Glawster on here) showed me a nice Wilmer and the Dukes "Give me one more chance" Aphrodisiac W/D used as extra packing. not particularly rare but nice, especially gratis!
  3. Yup, that's the one, but was it 12" only? Just that I can't recall ever seeing that issue on a 7".
  4. ...and the later 12' disco version had a track by Gabor Szabo (Keep smiling IIRC) on the flip...but was there a 7 of this coupling?
  5. Meaningless statement IMHO!
  6. Just as well I was far too young to go then Dave - hope all's well with you! Hippo.
  7. The long jazz-funk version on their 1979 "Music Band 2" album is a corker
  8. Angie Lawrence - still about, met her at Gloucester niter and I'll bet a pound to a pressing she'll be at Bridgewater
  9. Am I correct in thinking that bootleggers couldn't handle more than two colours at that time? I'm sure I read that somewhere (pauses for someone to shoot me down... )
  10. Oh dear, have all us south of Birmingham been living a lie for the past 40 years?
  11. Got a vague memory of him spinning another version of Karate Boogaloo - Guy's 'n' gals bounce or something like that???
  12. No Michael, you're not senile yet - played everywhere but like you it always reminds me of Ives
  13. But the CD single has the proper original version on, which isn't on the 12"...
  14. You're not alone...I stupidly thought that someone had stuck it on themselves, thinking there was a w/d of it, so peeled off the sticker and used it to cover a label tear on a Vala Reegan demo - and there it still is!
  15. Just recalled Cookie V "Queen of fools" being stereo, and that's Checker 1222....
  16. Re the Isleys "My love is your love" mentioned earlier in this thread - check the recent "Motown Anthology" CD which contains the mono version of this, a different take, different instrumentation, different song structure...still good though!
  17. Still a good post Mikey - and I know what you mean about passing places, if I go through Yate on the train I have to have a stomper on my headphones, and I've only just got out of the habit of getting a tingle down the spine just near J14 on the M5 (the turn off to many a great night!) Hippo.
  18. Mines's deffo a mono cut Pete - that's a strange one!!
  19. I've had the r/w demo for decades, but it's the one with "Good love gone bad" on the flip - so do r/w demos of the other coupling exist as well?
  20. Spooky...I was just thinking of that one! Have to go diggin' in the cupboards over the weekend!
  21. Having just tracked through the album (Dave's just hand - delivered it to the studio!), very nice indeed, several good mid-tempo tracks and a couple of nice slow jams to play on the show
  22. Was that Mecca? Mr. Thorley was the only person I heard play it out, at Yate of course..
  23. Do you mean "Got to get your own" Dave?
  24. ...even if I did play your ringtone yesterday...I'd love to have seen the confusion!
