  1. Most likely a couple of tracks from her new CD - which is good anyway!
  2. Sadly, just come across this from 2009... https://www.musicweek.com/story.asp?sectioncode=1&storycode=1038239
  3. AFAIK the "Wall of sound" group name is the only connection to Spector - a tribute/compliment perhaps? Whatever. still got my Big Bird issue as well...:-)
  4. Agree on the Timmy Carr - I walked into the studio as Dave was playing it and it floored me - would be a floorpacker in any era from the Torch to today! And as for the Coalitions Dave had to use my copy as his hadn't arrived ...released today on Soul Junction 7". Hope your hangovers cleared Dave!
  5. Duke Browner "Crying over you" for me!
  6. Very sad news, just had to add "I'll never forget you" to this mornings Northern set on my show!
  7. Too true - a while back I played Nolan Porter's "Oh baby" and a well known character who's been around since the Cats said "Wow! Never heard that before!" SO as has been said, one mans played-out tune is another mans recent discovery...let's dig deeper into the boxes!
  8. Thanks for reminding me how gorgeous she was! :-)
  9. Think The Empires "You're on top" was one of those IIRC!
  10. Courtships "Oops it just slipped out"?
  11. No contest - "Inky dinky wang dang doo"!
  12. I'm sure I've still got a flyer somewhere - complete with "naughty bits" ...one tune which always reminds me of Wheelwrights, strangely enough, is Nina Simone's "My baby just cares for me" as it was massive for the 6t's crowd at the time!
  13. Think I'm innocent on that one Mick - don't remember doing that niter, but remember doing the Cambridge Suite at the Leisure Centre with Searling guesting!
  14. Yes, I was there - can't remember too much about them except the stage, Flynny dj'ing, and cans of Red Stripe!
  15. Wow! First issue I've ever seen!
  16. Link to previous thread re CD etc...
  17. Better than dancing on his grave I'd say! On that side, probably Faure's requiem for me...
  18. Better than dancing on his grave I'd say!
  19. Joann Courcy - "I got the power"...and the Isleys "This old heart of mine"!
  20. Joann Courcy - "I got the power"...and the Isleys "This old heart of mine"!
  21. Timeline works for me Dave, but I think you mean the St. Lawrence boots of Fat man/Working at the go-go, The Joker was at least a year later.
  22. Definitely Pete - I'm pretty certain it was 1973, Wingate Strings was a monster tune at that time!
  23. Not one of your better decisions mate! :-)
  24. Was it pressed as a white label with a narrow runout? Had it for years and was always suspicious but haven't seen it in any guide?
