  1. Morning Dave, I thought it was stated that she was Betty from the Adorables - would make more sense than Dana V who has no Popcorn Wylie connection!
  2. Think we've all done that one! ...Ooops, should have finished reading the thread before I posted!!!
  3. Entitled "Baby you've got me", also came out legally on a Sequel CD with all their tracks on it - don't know if it's still available though.
  4. Thank you Michael, that's a beer I owe you... ...as someone said, a monkey with a box of boots could fill a floor, but I've always believed that communication, a bit of fun and a bit of professionalism helps! Mind you the soul police would probably hang and flog me for chop-mixing between vocal and instrumental on Duke Browner...I blame Paul O'B for that beer-inspired idea!
  5. Cooperettes - Shing a ling...four cymbal crashes and guaranteed goosebumps! Joann Courcy - I got the power...say no more, she has!
  6. Used to like his "Baby don't you want a man like me", a 45 on Stateside and on a compilation LP as well - on the cusp between Rock 'n Roll and an R'n'B dancer...the flip, "Holy Mackerel" is straight up Rock ' Roll but with some great lyrics!
  7. Eh? They've been released in a legal format - doesn't matter whether it's LP only - anything you did would be illegal.
  8. Yep, sure it was RM...in 1966, seem to recall it had a blue border. Why I remember that I don't know!
  9. Does anyone have any scans of the Soul charts that I seem to remember from either Disc and Music Echo or Record Mirror from the 60's? (I can't remember which as I used to buy all the music press in those days!)
  10. I know - was looking at it the other day!
  11. Drill holes through those "plastic" Mala issues - recipe for disaster! Looks good though Steve!
  12. My regular watering hole had a barrel of Northern Dancer a while back, and it was more than OK...put it this way, it didn't last long!
  13. Have to agree...maybe because i wasn't looking, or had my head stuck in a box of records...:-)
  14. Being sad, yup, I remember Sam having it covered as EoS, remember being down at the Dive Bar in Worcester one Sunday night after Yate, Mac Gocher used to play there and had it in his box without realising it was being played until we gently (!) pointed it out to him!
  15. Back in the 70's I used to play it by Johnny Mirage on J-V...same recording, with the instr. on the flip (which I think John Vincent was playing at the time) - saw one in Francis Tee's box t'other week, sadly no way I can afford it now! So it's the Phil-LA 7" or the UK Action Lp for me...
  16. Probably...! :-)
  17. Only very vague memories...:-)...know I dj'd there a couple of times...
  18. True, think of the likes of Epitome of Sound, Jetsons and Tangeers etc., which had the raised numbers beneath the label as a security measure, the daisy stamp on Capitol stuff getting smaller to deter bootleggers...sure there's more...
  19. I've got a vinyl copy of Bobby Garrett "I can't get away", had it for years, it ticks all the boxes, delta number etc., but I can't help feeling it just looks TOO perfect, if you know what I mean...
  20. And Sherlie posted this link on FB last night... https://longshotsblues.wordpress.com/2012/03/09/friday-freak-flag-flying-are-you-ready-pacific-gas-electric/
  21. Was watching one of those "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" shows on the Food Network last night, and one of them was owned by Robbie Montgomery! here's a link... https://www.oprah.com/own-sweetie-pies/Welcome-to-Sweetie-Pies-Miss-Robbie-Montgomery
  22. Double DOH! It's been a long time since that day just before New Year when it was on my turntable. Am I finally losing it son? :-)
  23. Is it just me or are the arist/title credits out of line? Am I a suspicious old Hector? :-)
  24. Well, it did appear on a mid-80's "Best of" compilation as well...sitting on my shelf all the while it was getting spins. Doh!
