Wouln't it be great if we turned up a Meri Wilson tune from the 60s and it was a Northern stomper! Unfortunately not the case I fear

OK. Her Northern tune was from the time of the photo - around 1967/8. Her big hit was in 1978. I know I've said she was a solo artist but I also said there was a connection with a band. that applies to the hit and it's a strong connection.

Nope. She definitely sang on the hit. And on the Northern tune.

Well she only really had one hit in the UK and US. Other tunes may have scraped the bottom end of the charts. It's possible that she had the off chart success in other countries so I wouldn't rule it out. Won't help though - it's her big hit that's significant and would probably give the game away.

That's a terrible excuse - take 50 lines Isis. Actually I usually only take questions to which I can give yes/no answers. I 'll let you off this time and tell you she's a solo performer - although there's a connection to a well known group. I like Jam and Jerusalem too but don't tell anyone
