  1. I think you'll find a pint of milk varies from shop to shop Mike. And for reference the new Chemical Brothers LP is £31/32. Like I say, shop retail price depends on distributor price..
  2. Our remaining RSD stock will sold online at RSD seven days after RSD as per ERA rules. If people decide that they can't wait and pay scalper prices, more fool them... Our Alice Clark LPs were £32. That's with our standard margin that pays for rent, staff etc and is based on the dealer price to us from the distribution companies. Any left seven days after RSD will be sold online at that price. Please don't blame the physical shops selling RSD product for the price, Chalky. Ta
  3. Sorry about the experience from your local shop. We send out lists of our stock to everyone on our mailing list early in the week of RSD. We can't do earlier than that as some stock arrives the very same week. I would suggest moving to Scarborough. We also have two lovely beaches and a castle...
  4. Good to chat to you albeit briefly Andy. Meant to say my copy of the Ralph Graham LP has a press sheet and promo photo in it too. It’s lovely Because I do RSD honestly, as it’s the only way to treat the customers respectfully, I missed out on the Sharon Ridley / Ralph Graham 45 myself though!
  5. Was that you that bought the Sharon Ridley / Ralph Graham too? If so I think it was the other way round. Last SR - we have some DB left and if they don’t sell in the shop over the next week will be offered on her 7 days after RSD. Cheers!
  6. As I've said before, once the seven day embargo is up we'll be offering up any remaining RSD on here and the Facebook groups at the regular RSD price. We'll also be limiting to one copy of any release per person. We never sell a vast amount of the soul/funk stuff on the day, but as we're a RSD shop, I just like to be able to offer the releases at non-scalper prices.
  7. Hi all I'm looking for the following in nice condition please: Sundown - Spaced Outta Place - Parkside Titus Turner - Coralee - King Here's hoping! Paul
  8. Me too Steve! I'm still not sure whether I've sorted it properly yet...
  9. I said this on the Nichelle Nichols thread but it’s worth repeating here I guess. Our shop is a RSD store and we’ll be taking part again this year. Under RSD rules (which are strictly enforced by ERA) we can’t sell any remaining stock online until 7 days after RSD. Last year we were able to supply collectors with the Third Man Frank Wilson release at the regular (ie non-scalper) RSD price. This year we’ve again ordered copies of all the releases of interest to soul/funk collectors - although the way allocations are made, we won’t know what we’ll actually get until closer to the time. Anything that remains unsold on RSD will be available to buy in our physical shop, Record Revivals in Scarborough and will be offered to purchase here after the 7 day embargo period. Watch this space... www.recordrevivals.co.uk
  10. Bear in mind that RSD shops are allowed to sell unsold stock online 7 days after the event. We did a great trade in the Third Man Frank Wilson 7 last year as a lot of mainstream RSD shops didn't bother with it and it was great to be able to offer it to folks on here so that they didn't have to pay ebay/discogs scalper prices. It's always a bit hit and miss as to how many of each release shops receive, but we'll be ordering all the soul/funk/disco and jazz releases, so watch this space a week after RSD for unsold stock at regular prices.
  11. Really fancy a copy of Sundown - Spaced Outta Place - Parkside. Cheers!
  12. Hi folks. A tad with late with this but I'll have a few days in Victoria BC from Thursday. Any tips re shops to hit? Cheers amigos
  13. If by "sticker" you mean record label and yours looks like this, it's a 70s bootleg copy.
  14. Well, well done for knowing everything. Why not just post up all the info yourself then
  15. We put this together back in 2011: Here it is then. Label listing for Soul Galore / Soul Fox and reproductions of original labels marked: "Exclusively Licensed to Soul Galore Productions" I've left "?" where the numbering system suggests there may have been a release - with the acknowledgement that there may not be one as it changed pretty randomly. I haven't included 45 known to be bootlegged/repressed from the same source but without the "Exclusively Licensed" tag (eg Kenni Smith on GAR 317). Any further additions welcome. 16. What was Larry Barnes - Rags is Rags covered up as? Cheers!
  17. PM sent amigo.
  18. As I said in my reply, it's not about polythene sleeves. The PVC ones are the problematic ones. Think of it in terms of vinyl/styrene if that helps folks!
  19. Not seen the Manship video, but I believe the issue is with certain types of PVC sleeves and over the past 10 years or so a lot of collectors have switched to polythene instead, which seems less problematic. It's not just damp either - heat, humidity and UV exposure can all speed up the leeching of plasticizer from the PVC. It can take years for the effects to be noticeable, however - and by then it's too late.
  20. PMd Rod.
  21. The Stateside issue of the Della Reese track is actually a different cut - it’s a live recording whereas the HMV release is a studio recording. Great to see all this stuff Roburt- keep it coming. How the mighty have fallen is spot on too. When I worked in a record shop in the 70s EMI were still one of the big players. Now that I have my own shop it still feels odd having to order some Parlophone releases via Warner.
  22. Now updated to reflect four of each left. Details and payment instructions in the main post. Cheers!
  23. I’ve already taken some pre-orders in the shop and was offering the same here. They should arrive Thursday for Friday release. If you want to take a chance on any being left after that time, that’s fine, just give me a shout next week. Otherwise payment as outlined in my original post please. Cheers.
