I wouldn’t play anything worth more than a tenner on any of those. I guess that review site might be ok for deciding which bread maker to buy, but it doesn’t look too reliable with regard to hi fi recommendations!

9. Michelles is Dee De Barnes on Arctic. Best record on the list.

Different territory rules apply. Like back in the 70s when We sometimes bought imports at a higher price because we didn’t want to wait for the UK release. in reality no one will care about this release- if it was Beyoncé there’d be hell on.

Amazon really shouldn't be shipping this before the release date. We're constantly warned about that. Bet Shellshock don't know!

Godzilla replied to Godzilla's topic in Record Sales
Not sure what exactly you need to know but hopefully this helps: https://recordstoreday.co.uk/releases/rsd-drop-august/robert-parker/ cheers -
UPDATE We've been alerted to the fact the labels are flipped on the Robert Parker 45. We're happy to take returns for a full refund on any sold. Apologies for the inconvenience. We're told there are no plans to repress. We had an amazing RSD despite having to add additional Covid safety measures and we sold a ton of stuff on the new website after 6pm on the day. However, we've managed to score extra copies of a couple of releases of potential interest to SS members and we can offer them for sale directly, away from the the website. One copy of each per sale as per RSD rules please. Robert Parker - I Caught You In A Lie - Nola 7 inch £10 ALL SOLD Alison Limerick - Where Love Lives - Arista 12 inch £10 Juno have presales on these releases at £15.25/£16.25 respectively. Shipping on the 12 inch is £4.20 (no extra cost for the 7 inch) Shipping on the 7 inch is £2.30 UK only at these rates - overseas please PM for a quote Additional stock arriving Monday and will be shipped the same day. To order just send paypal payment to: info@recordrevivals.co.uk Please ensure your paypal address is up to date as that's where we'll send 'em! Thanks Paul (Godz)

This has been the worst few weeks I can remember for losing so many great performers - soul music or otherwise - in such a short space of time. Really horrible

Nobody has mentioned Suzi Parker yet... ...ducks for cover...

Ditto Cochise. A jazz drummer who played with Les McCann among others. There’s a difference between non-soul records picked up by the scene and Tailor Mades

It’s only the flip on the UK issue done fir he NS scene John. Life is a Song got a few plays before The Flasher came out - probably why the artist was already on the radar. The flip of Life is a version of Living For The City, which is pretty nice if I remember correctly.

sad news Little Richard has passed away RIP
Godzilla replied to Mickjay33's topic in All About the SOUL
The most influential artist I can think of -
It's an interesting one. The UK release is 1967 as is the US MOD release. However both of the the US releases couple Picture Me Gone with I'm Gonna Make Me Love You - which was her next UK single from early 68..

Here’s the latest. Now three ”RSD drops” Instead of a single day. Shops can sell online from 6pm on the day of each drop. Still problematic in my view and we’ll be seriously thinking about how/if we can do this safely. https://recordstoreday.co.uk/news/posts/2020/record-store-day-is-social-distancing/

I feel as though the Ritz is in my DNA. My mum and dad met there when they went to Rock n Roll dances in the 50s. My Mum still has her Mecca charm bracelet with all the various trinkets that were awarded to loyal members, including the Mecca “golden” egg. In the 70s I started going to the Bank holiday Alldayers straight from Wigan. By the 90s I was living in Scarborough and my wife and I went to the Rarest of the Rare, Chicago and Detroit, Boxing Day All-nighters etc. I’ve always loved live music - spent spent around 14 years running venues - and Gill and regularly head over to the Ritz to see bands there. Last year we saw acts as diverse as Tower of Power and Fontaines DC. It’s an excellent live venue. I still absolutely love the place

RIP Eugene Thomas (Epitome Of Sound)
Godzilla replied to Blackpoolsoul's topic in All About the SOUL
Gosh that’s sad. One of the best records this scene ever unearthed. Wonderful that he was recording again too. RIP Eugene
