  1. When the Casino closed I immediately started selling Northern Soul, mugs, coasters, patches, stickers, holdalls and my best selling line - those nifty 'Keep The Faith' fisting T-shirts. As you can see business is booming. There's even a thread about all my quality goods somewhere on here. Right on. KTF.
  2. Can't say I've ever had that problem...
  3. I think there are two separate lots of gold label pressings: The ones done for the US market, which are re-releases of popular oldies (Jackie Wilson, Barabara Acklin etc use a new numbering system 1002 - 1030. The ones done for the UK, re-releases of in demand Northern Soul tunes (cooperettes, Herb Johnson etc) retain the catalogue numbers of the original issues.
  4. From 45cat. "Brunswick's "gold label" reissue series was pressed out of PRC Recording Corp. in Richmond, IN, with lacquer mastering done at Masterdisk by (mostly) Gilbert Kong. The label design was crimped from what was used for promos of regular releases in the last years of Brunswick's being distributed by Decca / MCA".
  5. Never seen one. Why is that?
  6. He said he got a carver for £20, not an original. It's a hard plastic dub plate - the modern day equivalent of the acetates (emidiscs etc) that people used to have cut in the 70s and 80s. The material used is inferior to the nitrocellulose lacquer coating on an acetate and that's why I questioned the statement that it was 'a perfect copy' - although I acknowledge that hearing (and standards of what's acceptable) vary from individual to individual.

  8. Dunno but there's another odd recording of it here, which is from his official site:
  9. Actually I completely mis-spoke just then. What I meant to say was how about we swap my pink one and some cash, say twenty quid, for your orange boot...?
  10. Why thank you! I think it's about right though, to be honest.
  11. Have you considered the possibility that you may be colour blind? Hint: if most lipstick also looks orange there's a good chance you are

  13. Saw him a The Band On The Wall a couple or so years ago. Great performance and my only real criticism is that he included some fairly standard covers in his set. A lot of the US acts seem to do that and I guess it's expected at the gigs they do at home, but my sense is that most people who see them in Europe would be happy to just see them perform their original material.
  14. Have you seen one of his feedbacks? "£18 for a low quality 45 from a cropped S McMahon utube mp3 seems a bit pricey" The sad thing is that everyone seems to be happy. Dickheads with painted on ears.
  15. I found this handy guide on a Beatles site:
  16. Possibly Dick Hafner on Silver Streak. Obviously connected in some way as he also recorded on Valiant with Go 'Way Tears
  17. I'm afraid not and no clues in the dead wax. Sorry

  19. In the absence of the list I can at least give you the info for his one: ED. 20. I paid about about £40 for a nice UK copy of Loot last year. Seems to have dropped a bit lately compared to a few years ago when everyone was after a copy. If you're not fussy the European issues are usually a bit cheaper.
  21. I thought there were different paste options that allow you to format/unformat text, Dave?
  22. What's the prize for actually reading that massive, unpunctuated block of text, then?
  23. I've counted about five factual errors in that statement Toad. And I'm rubbish at counting
