  2. Here's one that's been shaking Monster Island lately. There's a Barry White and a Jimmy Radcliffe connection too see what you reckon, Godz
  3. That's the one! Thanks Christian. Soundfile for comparison anyone? Godz
  4. I kick that big tin lunkhead's ass everytime and you know it. Gotta go now. I have to make Birthday Dinner for Mrs Godzilla (honest!) I'm going to flame grill some of those little jeeps with Radar dishes on top - they're her favourite! Godz
  5. And you could spend some of that energy replying to my Tommy Yates query in" Look Up Ya Box" Cheers, G
  6. If you two don't play nice it's early bed and no supper. now listen to your uncle Godz
  7. Thanks Jock. I'm sure I read in one of Tim Brown's comics that it is Tate. I think that's where I got the shared backing track business from too. I have a black and blue issue and they both credit Imperial Showband so maybe it got pressed a number of times. I like the flip too "If You're Looking For a Fool" Same as David King Thomas of "Invstigate" fame. Same writers on each side of both records too. Anyone else provide more info? Cheers, Godz
  8. Fair enough mate. Here's a cuddle then Cheers! Godz
  9. A few questions about this tune: Is this really Tommy Tate? What's the record it's supposed to share a backing track with? Does it have any value? If so, what's the difference between black and blue issues? Cheers, Godz
  10. Agreed Tim. I thought it looked too similar to the "All of My Life" boots that we discussed a few weeks ago. Godz
  11. Anyway, just cast my vote for Donz. Wouldn't wanna be a sheep Godz
  12. That's cheating!! You've changed your earlier post that referred to pop music. Play fair dammitt Godz
  13. Unlike this "oddball Northern Soul Two Sider" from last week of course Same seller - same price - last week. Godz
  14. Or even a crayon drawing Godz
  15. That's ok son. Now don't forget to wash behind your ears.
  16. I don't think that Pete S was saying that one version was pop and one soul - just that of the two versions of this soul song he preferred the DB one - which happens to be the white one. Don't see a problem with that myself - especially as some people obviously weren't aware that he WAS white. Cheers, Godz
  17. Craig, your a gentleman. And I'll chance my arm with anything with my name on it Just PM'd you. Cheers, Godz
  18. There have been plenty of the plain orange ones on eBay this year.
  19. Cheers Andy, I bet I'll have about as much luck as when I first found Tony Galla's website seriously though, for people who soul music tastes are broader than just Northern it's a fantastic version and knocks spots of the Supremes. Tony really makes the song his own, with a sort of Southern feel to it. Godz
  20. Hmmm, no replies. Does this mean I'm asking a daft question unworthy of an answer? If so just tell me - I can take it! Or does it mean that nobody knows anything about this record but you're all to ashamed to say so? I went on Dave Rimmers site and checked Discographies and noticed the flip is unknown (It's "Can't You Hear Your Mama Calling") so maybe it is a bit obscure? For God's sake don't make me go on the Funk45 forum. Those fellers are even more up their own bums than we are on here! I know, pretend I'm a famous scene person and give us an opinion Cheers, Godz oh by the way, I don't suppose it's worth asking about the Larry Carlton 45 on here either is it?
  21. Not a Northern Soul query, but I know there are plenty of people on here with wide tastes and knowledge. I play at a night with a pal of mine who is an old skool hip hop DJ. He spins that and I play funky soul, and the mix goes down very well. I started playing the Tony Drake version of Love Child it's getting pretty popular. My pal Kista asked if I could get him a copy and I didn't think it would be too difficult as I didn't think it was anything special really. My searches, however have been fruitless. Is this 45 rarer than I thought, or is it just considered to be too bobbins to be worth listing? All help appreciated. Cheers, Godz
  22. Well I think that the so called "Detroit Symphony" instrumental version is best. Certainly the most soulful Prepares to take cover from objects thrown by Chalky and our Scandinavian pals Godz
  23. Virginia Wolves... ...is there only me playing now? G
  24. Kim Weston (Super Mare) - her little known married name....
