Last time we talked about this we established that all the run off markings were the same, suggesting the later black text copy manufactured using the original plates. Blue text is definitely first, however...

Godzilla replied to Dave Moore's topic in All About the SOUL
Just re-read this by coincidence. More about the images really but the background is really interesting. -
Need a clean copy of Bo Diddley - Another Sugar Daddy. UK Chess preferred but will consider US Checker copy. Thanks!

Except for the green counterfeits, which lack the Nashville Matrix stamp... -
Very sad news indeed. If anyone is in touch with his family please pass on condolences.

I'm not disputing they're white and I've never heard the flip, but Does She Love Me doesn't have that primitive R&B influenced guitar sound that shouts garage to me. Not making a big deal as it's a neither here nor there record to me, but I do like a bit of snarly garage Seems they were regarded as a Righteous Brothers type act locally, however. https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/06/27/AR2009062702274.html

That's never a garage record Mal!

It's worth Looking right through as they are in no particular order and there may be gems mixed in with cheapies. Scans are posted for most and available for any others. I don't want to clog up the listing with MP3s/Youtube clips but I'm happy to provide soundclips for anything listed with no obligation to buy. I've tried to list well under book price so feel free to make offers for multiple purchases but please don't take the micky! I'll answer any questions to the best of my ability. These records will be listed elsewhere by this evening, so don't hesitate to get in touch if you're interested in anything. Prices in GBP. Paypal gift is preferred. My rep on here is absolutely sound. If you prefer not to make gift payment please give me a shout to discuss alternatives. Shipping is £2.30 signed for (recorded) or at cost overseas. That was my thought. Maybe it makes them more expensive...

King Curtis is Australian. There's a subtle clue in the bit where it says "Made in Australia"...
-
On a related note, I remember Richard Searling getting a slating in Blues & Soul for allegedly sitting on Johnny Williams' "Your Something Kinda Mellow" until the UK issue was deleted before playing it.
-
Glad you're sorted mate. Had a couple of PMs so it looks like my copy is sold either way. Cheers!
-
I've got one that will be tons cheaper. Off the top of my head it's got a sticker and bit of label wear but plays nicely. I'll check tonight and will get back to you.

Giant is the word for sure. What a body of the work the man has. I guess we won't see much about his passing in the mainstream media.

Off the top of my head: London; Chiswick; Chelsea; Depford Fun City... I guess there's an argument as to whether some are towns or districts if we're being picky. Got to be loads more though.

Can't remember the stamp markings but I always suspected it was a North American pressing of some kind. It states that it's made in Jamaica, however This is not my copy but looks the same.
