  1. Chateauneuf is one word Rod. Dunno about soul, but you're clearly not a wine snob
  2. Have you seen the comments under that Youtube video? Who are those headcases who remember Frank Wilson being played at the Torch? They're are that busy doing the "ooh you must have been there same time as me" crap to be aware of one of the best known record tales in the history of this scene. Hilarious
  3. What's the smiley for big, deep sigh? I'd already checked JM's but it's been widely discussed on here that his prices reflect his need to achieve a certain margin to cover overheads etc. You even recently questioned why he didn't just buy a 45 in order to make a straight £100 profit where he had a buyer waiting. As for grading, well I wasn't offering it for sale here and I know enough to be able to adjust the grading accordingly, if someone were to advise on price for a M/Ex copy. In fact you may even have tought me that. Youre just miffed that I outdid you with the cheese gags. Always were a sore loser.
  4. Why - are you psychotic?
  5. Me too. Mind you, takes one to know one I always say
  6. Jr Walker - Shake and Fingerpop - UK Tamla Motown EP. Rough guide price please so that I can list it cheaper of course. Ta
  7. Ahem. Post 203. Do try to keep up, Epic
  8. Excellent post. Any tips for other would-be mobile DJs who want to play Northern Soul. Soulful weddings perhaps?
  9. I knew there was something about the name of this thread that was bugging me. Sussed it now after reading some of the posts. There's a mistake in the spacing and the placement of the apostrophe. Title should read "Northern Soul's nobs"
  10. The Showstoppers track "Pick Up Your Smile' is ok. That's one of his isn't it? Bet there's a few on here with happy memories of "Exodus" too
  11. I agre there's lots of stuff worth a quid each there, Keith. Not so sure if I'd go along with the majority being worth a fiver a pop though. Also not sure they are the best value you could get anywhere. There are loads of job lots on ebay that work out under a dollar a piece. I've had lots exactly like that and even with shipping they've worked out ok. I stopped it because I got fed up with ending up with loads of stuff technically worth a couple of quid or so but with no demand. Not worth it even when the bits I sold covered the cost of the nice bits that I wanted to keep. Who wants boxes and boxes of not very exciting and pretty worthless records?
  12. Possibly the most over the top post I've seen on here Keep up the good work.
  13. Scruffy as well Back in the day it had to be a pair of Royal Brogues in my neck of the woods. None of the cheapy copies with that dotty band split into two either.
  14. That's at least 2 45s then. Cry to Me is the Solomon Burke song so guess they were a 60s Beat Combo (as you cool cats say)
  15. There's an LP on the same label which I think is South African only Pete. Deffo SA for those 45s.
  16. and Grand Prix is Italian as the seller says in the bit I posted above Don't think anyone's has ever argued other than it's an Italian release - there was just some debate about where it was actually recorded. Seems beyond all doubt now that ken has 'painted on' ears which are beautifully decorative but have no useful function
  17. I had the maroon one back in the 70s Phil, and even in those days it was bloody fast! Just think the years are playing tricks on you Records packaged up and ready to go to your work address in the morning btw Cheers Godz
  18. Best offer so far is £30. I'll hang on until 9am tomorrow (Monday) and if there are no more offers £30 it is. Cheers Paul (Godz)
  19. That's the one! Happy chap eh?
  20. Try it without 'retentive' May get a few more.
  21. It was something just ending when I spotted it Bob. That's why I took a screenshot.
  22. What me? - don't be daft
