  1. We were there too. Never seen seats out in the BOTW before. Great gig though despite lowish numbers and the band were excellent. Top way to spend a birthday
  2. Yeah. Honey Trippin was the track played around the time of NOTW...
  3. It was one of those tunes that circulated amongst the back bar at Wigan but I guess the time wan't right for it. I remember having it in a sales box with Lost Soul - I'm Gonna Hurt You and stuff like that.
  4. The Coasters got to No 6 in Canada so it pretty much made it there!
  5. Got a 45 release in France...
  6. That's nonsense. My Hang Up Is You / It's A New Day was released legitimately in 1973 in both the US (GSF 6891) and the UK (GSZ 7).
  7. Well in the absence of any advice and being a bit crap with uk prices, I’m gonna stick it in the shop at £25 and see what happens...
  8. Ike and Tina Turner EP with Somebody, Somewhere... No pic cover. Vinyl Ex with WOL as seen in pic. Can anyone help with valuation please? Ta!
  9. Glad to see my taste is in the minority. Reminds me of how I felt as teenager in the 70s when everyone apart from me and couple of mates were strictly into chart music
  10. Gene Middleton - No One To Love Me
  11. Every copy of this record offered for sale should include a pic. I can't think of a 45 where the reissue is sold as an original so often.
  12. Cool - pop in and say hello
  13. If your weekends away stretch into late October/November, I'll be taking over Scarborough's longest established record shop, Record Revivals in mid October. Naturally, I'll be upping the soul/funk/R&B quotient
  14. Great press release for Lord Sitar! They seem to think it was a French group rather than UK session man Big Jim (I played on 54 UK number ones) Sullivan, however
  15. You don't know how lucky you are my friend!
  16. Was Muriel Day big in France..?
  17. The other side is better.
  18. You can't list an item for sale on Discogs and then say it's different to the index listing. They class it as a violation, take your listing down and issue a warning. I've had that happen when I've listed Canadian issues or a promo/issue where they don't have both variations in their database.
  19. Hi folks I'm looking for a copy of Barbara Dane's - compact 33 Capitol release of I'm On My Way. Or the LP of the same name if it's cheap. I'd like either by Thursday if possible Cheers!
  20. Maybe it's a way of saying they don't have an original vinyl policy. Or maybe they don't have any music policy at all ie don't dictate what DJs have to play...
  21. I have mixed feelings. Some re-edits are great dancefloor material, albeit unofficial. I'm talking about Northern stuff, clearly - just to avoid any mouth frothing... I guess if they're still on Discogs database, people will check them out and just go somewhere else to buy them.
  22. On the nose. It's arguable that what the public think of as Northern Soul is actually part of mainstream pup culture these days, as opposed to a clearly defined subculture. And it's definitely not a youth subculture, which is where all the OPs original examples started, albeit they were periodically revived. It's equally arguable that there's a less immediately obvious or popular rare soul subculture hanging in there, but I can't remember whether it's the Judean People's Front or the Popular People's Front of Judea... (splitters!)
  23. They both owe a lot to Mercy, Mercy Mercy but apart from that I don't know Lovely tune nonetheless. I've knacked a couple of Styrene 7s so aim to pick up the LP next time.
