  1. And who bought it? Ah, in the beginning ebay was really nice... Cheers, Martin
  2. Hi Sebastian! Didn't know the story about the Dome. Unfortunatley I've never been there, always wanted to fly over for this soul night, but before it came to it the club closed. Uncovered, mmmh that's not so nice than. Can someone remember who spun it? So it's now called the "Prophets cover up" formerly known as "Dean and Damonts", lol. I know where's one of these, but it's not 10 uk pounds (ezzie). Unfortunatley it's a three figure there. cheers, Martin
  3. Lets get down - prophets - c/u 13966 refosoul
  4. I'm now able to record mp3s. So I thought, I'd ask you, what you think about this 45 I'm spinning as a cover up here in Germany. Off course you'll all tell me that you already know it, but I'll give it a try.. Doing this upload thing for the first time. Hope it works. Cheers, Martin
  5. Was this recorded, too? Would be especially interested in the part of the german soul scene. Martin
  6. or to some mates dj-spots
  7. Baz you can have a listen to it a JMs site (by the way he is taking 75 pounds on this). https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/searchartist....TION&Format= But it's true old love is better, bought mine for the special category side, but after listening to the b-side, I spun old love in some of my dj-sets. Martin

  11. No paid 20 GBP. Two months later it was 150 GBP, sometimes the luck is on my side but very seldomly,,,
  12. Wow Mr. Smith! You've got a very well trained brain. I bought the 45 and the sleeve from you about 3 or 4 years ago and you can still remember. Yes the writing some kinda looks the same. cheers, Martin
  13. I would, if I had he money at the moment. Great track! Martin
  14. Got to agree all 3 are very good (or are there more on Dynamo?) and you can get them still cheap. Also I think "don't wait .." is the hardest, but best... sounds a bit more "northern" than "if i'm hurt.." I play both from time to time when I'm allowed to dj. Real quality for the price. Cheers, Martin
  15. Hi all! a mate asked me about a song by Melvin Davis called About Love on Jackpot. Could anybody please help me with a sound file? Would be great! Cheers, Martin
  16. Hi Marc! You may be right that younger people are attracted to Northern Soul by this song. It's still not very soulful imho. A sixties style pop record imo. The only problem I see, is that they exspect you to play that kinda stuff, because this must be Northern Soul and Northern Soul has to be the Frank Popp Ensemble way. You know, I'm living in a students town... Best, Martin PS: Still under my thirties and also found out about soulful music and glad that there is still very much to find out about it.
  17. They are from Germany. Hannover I think, but I'm not sure. This song got popular because it was played in german tv. About how they produce their sound - I don't know, could have told you, if I would have gone to the concert here in Bamberg but missed it.
  18. Got to agree with Gabriel here. In this video, why is mr. Popp DJ-ing there? what does this contribute to the song? Did you see the crowd, not very enthusiastic. Cheers, Martin PS: But the girl is pretty good looking.
  19. Yes, I think it's Johnnie Mae's daughter and there is also a label named after her, if I still get the things together correctly. Cheers, Martin
