Northern Soul - The Film - Latest news - March 2012
Quinvy commented on Mike's article in News Archives
Won't be made unless she can raise the money......... -
All 70's records that take 30 seconds before anyone actually sings a note. I have lost the will to live before that and taken the needle off the vinyl. There should be a limit of 2 minutes 30 seconds on ALL songs. [except for that Adele, and she should be limited to 2 min 30 sec per album]. maximum!
-
Yes, just the white demo was booted. It's a very good repro too. The best way to tell is to look at the dead wax, which is wider on the boot. Also the matrix no. is very lightly scratched in. It is much more defined on the original and very neat.
-
That's how I have always felt and still do...........I have never been comfortable with the drug culture, and the effect it has on people's behaviour. There's a very dark under current hiding under the friendly exterior, and it's still there unfortunately. Maybe the young ones don't like it?

When I sold up [the first time lol] it would be around 1975 I think. I got a list printed up, and advertised in Blues and Soul, and Black Echos magazines. The very first telephone call I got was from Mike, he came to my house, and he bought the majority of my big tunes. We had a really good rapport, and I enjoyed his company as we played and talked through my collection. He made a very good impression on me, and I instantly liked the man. I was very saddened to hear of his death not long after. It was indicative of the times that I was informed that Mike had committed suicide. I am glad to hear that wasn't so. I always doubted it myself, as the guy was full of life and obviously loved the music. Judging by the quality of tunes he bought from me, he was obviously really going for it, in terms of becoming at top Dj. Very sad he never got the chance.

Waiting for Butch to post, with baited breath.........

Carl Fornum has the instrumental track, but it is very, very tedious when played out. "The dance track" that's what I was told was on the acetate. No known singer.
-
Why are you all scare mongering? Read post no.8, Tim has listed "A" copy for sale. My God get a grip people. DOOMED, WE'RE ALL DOOMED!
-
The copy on Brownies list was an absolute steal. Someone bagged a bargain there, and he hasn't got any more.

Great tune that, always loved the old Soul Train clips. This is one of my all time favourites, watch the dancers, [they look like the Hair Bear Bunch] check out the dude on the right with a very loud patterned shirt. He is so cool.......... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cvSWLlBHWA

I've got both recorded, pretty sure they are the same, but I will have a listen when I get the chance. -
What's This Worth - Ty Karim - You Just Don't Know - ?
Quinvy replied to Quinvy's topic in Look At Your Box
Thought I'd seen it somewhere. I guess that's what it's worth then. Many thanks for the info. -
As title, got a copy of this but not sure what it's worth. Only time I've heard it out was, I think it was John Parker that played it at Burnley when I ran the all nighters? Any ideas? Has to be rare?
