Luther Ingram, If It's All The Same, Instrumental Version
Quinvy replied to Suinoz's topic in Look At Your Box
And it's the original side to be played. I've always thought the vocal was dreadful, Exus Trek for me everytime. -
Can't agree with that...........eBay has to be the true value.

Dj's I Wanna Hear Out More At Allnighters
Quinvy replied to Russ Vickers's topic in All About the SOUL
Fair comment mate but you know me, I don't have your broad taste in music. I'm strictly a 60's man, but I've always admired your commitment and enthusiasm, and I wish I could feel the same as you about the scene. You're one of the good guys Russ, I wish there were a few more like you. Best regards, Phil. -
Dj's I Wanna Hear Out More At Allnighters
Quinvy replied to Russ Vickers's topic in All About the SOUL
Mr. Searling may well be making a comeback, and good luck to him. But if Butch is struggling to find new quality 60's, then I'm not convinced anyone else [even RS] will be able to do so. -

Fair enough, I'll fcuk off now and leave you all to it.

Strange that..........I thought the thread was about under rated records from a played out perspective? Hence people saying things like "never hear this played these days" How can a record be "rated" if it isn't played out? On my comment about price, you have misunderstood my point. There are many records out there that are very common, yet have a very high value, why? because they are fantastic and everybody wants to own them. Occasionally, a cheap record gets a few plays and bang, it has a reaction. Said record disappears and the price goes through the roof. It's the same record it always was and is still a common record but everyone is looking for it, so it becomes hard to find. I like a cheap record as much as the next guy, in fact there are a lot of "big money rarities" that I wouldn't give tuppence for. The fact is, there are too many people Dj'ing who don't have any taste, and wouldn't know a dance record if it hit them in the head. And that Chalky is why I don't go out anymore. Try and remember it's supposed to be a DANCE scene.
-
This thread highlights just why most soul nights and allnighters are rubbish. Appart from a couple, these are records that should never be played "out" they're simply not good enough to get people excited, and dancing. That's why they are cheap.
-
Blimey! your beyond help.
-
Quite brilliant record and the flip side too.
-
That explains why you don't like Lou Pride.............the Jeri Shaw track is embarassingly bad.
-
Wow! I am amazed at the difference in taste that we are all on the same forum. I agree whole heartedly with Mr. Soul, but the other two? Lou Pride to me is just a tour de force, and I regret to say I've never managed to own a copy. Even the instrumental version is epic.
-
The best portable player ever made. This one is as new condition and comes complete with a mains adaptor and a very good set of quality headphones. I bought this to go to the States record hunting, but have never used it. £200 sorry no offers, but I will pay postage.

What I meant was, I sold up and left the scene before records like I'm Gone were played.

Articles: Who are the Great Soul Deejays?
Quinvy replied to Stevesilktulip's topic in Front Page News & Articles
Levine and Curtis in the early 70's were incredible, but overall the prince of the potteries [butch] has to be number 1. And he's still doing the business. -
