  2. A quick tomorrow shout for all you real world record buyers BEATING RHYTHM MANCHESTER HALF PRICE SALE!! Beating Rhythm 108 Tib street Manchester M4 1lR
  3. If I remember correctly it was about in 1971? And was being played at non soul disco's, so it must have been re pressed way back then. Therefore those re issues would have been knocking about Stateside for a long time. I've had a few issues over the years, and none of them had the proper raised Archer stamp. So I would think the original is quite rare, even the issue.
  4. And I've said this a hundred times before. I can tell the difference between original vinyl and most re issues/boots. The sound quality is very different. Mind you, with the crap sound systems that most use, you would be hard pressed to notice the difference.
  5. Exus Trek, Breakaway, Rosemary, Bari Track.
  6. Spelling errors aside, that Soul Incorporated looks totally at odds with the rest of the set??? Maybe you needed to be there?
  7. If your heart rules your head [me] and you have paid top money for a 45, you will always try and get your money back, it's human nature. That's explains a lot of the high prices in the sales section.
  8. absolutely mate.
  9. I'm absolutely astounded that anyone into dance music can think that Joseph Webster is shite and the Trent Sisters is good. I am not usually a fan of 70's records but to me Joseph Webster along with Little Major Williams are the best examples of 70's dance music I have ever had the pleasure of dancing to. Amazing how we can all be into northern and yet have such massive differences in taste.

  11. Spotted myself in the photo, top left corner, inch and a half in. Amazing! As I never went to Wigan.
  12. I lusted after one of these when I were a lad. They were the b*llocks back then.
  13. I didn't realise they were a Scottish combo.
  14. I can't agree with that Chalky. If you put up a Trent Sisters and a Little John for sale, the amount of interest in the latter would far out way that of the former. Both rare, both played at the same time. One fantastic, one not.
  15. You would have to be very careful and sneak them out over a long period. You only have to see what happens when a single copy of a rare record turns up. The scare mongers are out in force on this forum saying it's a bootleg, or it's turned up. Six turning up would see owners of said record throwing themselves out of the windows of high rise buildings.
  16. Not really mate, I still think it would be of interest to a very limited few collector / Dj's. But with the internet, it's become much easier to find those interested parties. 1. It's going to be a four figure sum. That is a very limiting factor. 2. It's not a popular tune. This limits it even more. In my humble opinion, if more than half a dozen turned up it would be almost impossible to sell.
  17. Many a true word......
  18. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DISCOTRON-SINGLE-PLAY-TRANSISTOR-BATTERY-PORTABLE-RECORD-PLAYER-/111110372717?nma=true&si=MocwJCxeIuovrprZlMXLrEEgO78%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 This is all I can find. It's been a long time since Discotrons were about.
  19. No offence intended mate, it is a very rare piece and some people seem to love it. And indeed it will be very valuable.
  20. sorry Phil I know you always wanted it. It is very rare, but just not for me. Now Little John, well that's right up my strasse
  21. I will give you a tenner to leave it where it is. not my cup of tea.
  22. So it's like most allnighters then, most people bugger off after midnight? Says it all really, and just shows why the Sunday afternoon/early evening events are doing so well. We are too old for allnighters. This is not a criticism, I can't do them anymore myself.
  23. Is it always so light in there? No atmosphere to me when it's so light. It's not an attractive sight anymore is it?
  24. Not been out for quite a while myself, but when I did it was pretty poor. I hear stories about the 1980's when if you had the money you could go to an allnighter and buy almost anything, and I mean all the big ticket tunes. I have never been to Stoke, but I would guess that would have the most dealers present. Butch's box is always worth a look.
