  1. What? I don't understand any of that.
  2. That is absolutely true my friend.
  3. Mik that's what I meant. It was just the copy Cliff had was labeled as Emery and the Dynamics - Let's take a look at our life.
  4. I agree, I was just trying to make the point that a lot of these tunes are well bellow standard, but are popular because there's nothing new of quality. When you are involved in a scene that you passionately love, you get very insular. Once you leave that scene you hear things from a more realistic perspective. However, I must also admit that if I heard some of these tunes played out, I may grow to like them. But I doubt it somehow.
  5. See, nobody laughed at Russ.
  6. I usually forget the names of records I don't like, but this time I copied off my good friend Mr. Vickers earlier post. So it's his fault.
  7. There's no accounting for taste pal.
  8. Unfortunately quite a few of the 45's being lauded in this thread are very poor records. Just my opinion of course. The Little Suzi tune isn't really a cover up, it's a Sue Rainey 45 with the wrong label on it. Played by Cliff Camfield for a year or so until Karl persuaded him to sell it. Never did anything for me personally. Tommy Dent was being played by Richard Lewis long before Sam. Again does nowt for me. The Sir Guy thing is ghastly. The Precisions is very messy and another example of rarity over quality. Just my humble opinion, and the reason I don't bother going out anymore.
  9. Pete, I can send you a "live" recording I did at the first Lifeline Allnighter. Pretty poor quality, but you can get the gist of it. Let me know if you are interested mate.
  10. Trouble is Byrney, only a small proportion of the people on the scene will have even heard it. I agree though it's fantastic, I always ask Butch to play it.
  11. The ones in Butch's play box.
  12. Always wanted this record, wish I wasn't skint. Very good price. Good luck with the sale.
  13. The thing that worries me about the youngsters is, they aren't getting into it for the same reasons that we did. Soulboy the new Teddy Boy?
  14. I didn't Steve. The tv was just on and I'd forgotten all about it, don't look Ethel, but it was too late. Now I'm so depressed. We we just look so uncool now. I don't like being old.
  15. I am so embarrassed.
  16. I love Bobby Rich and had a copy that had a long history of owners. And that's the point. It was a record that never turned up, but now seems to be far more prolific. I agree with Dobber, it's a bloody nightmare owning rare records. You are constantly worrying about a box full turning up.
  17. There's definitely been some copies of Bobby Rich turned up Chalky. Don't know how many, but it's gone through eBay a couple of times that I know of and I don't look on there anymore. There's one for sale on here, and they have all been minty.
  18. Please don't do that.
  19. Another "Big Lad" t'other side for me every time.
  20. So many top rarities have been for sale over the last few years that I don't think anyone can be sure anymore. The internet has opened up the market place, and half of the population of the USA seem to be record dealers.
  21. I would be all for that Neil, but the "new" ain't in the same league. Big Lad = Brilliant & Rare Record that everyone wants to own.
  22. Not a chance in 2014. Everything has been sorted through a million times. Just my opinion of course.
  23. Neil, I admire your way of thinking. However, when you come to sell "a big lad" you will have no trouble finding a buyer, and you will get your money back, or maybe even make money. Your 10 semi knowns will be in the sales box for a long time mate.
  24. What my original thread was implying was; During the recession some incredible 45's have been coming up for sale especially on ebay, but they now seem to be drying up. Does this mean that the recession is coming to an end and that people aren't having to sell the "family silver"?
