Take me to the river, Hallelujah!
-
That's what I have in my search, but I still keep missing good stuff.
-
What upsets me more is, why are there loads of things going through eBay that I never see? Looks like I need to alter my search criteria as I seem to miss loads of good stuff.
-
Post mate.

It's not just the lookalikes. I have had so much trouble on eBay, what with customs charges, records that were cracked, records with cue burn and then buying an eighties boot with a scanned label stuck on purporting to be an original and last but not least, over graded records. It kind of explains why people are willing to pay through the nose from JM's auction. It may be expensive, but it's hassle free. I'm thinking of packing in eBay all together. I think as these records get older and harder to find at source, the stuff that is coming onto the market is the dregs. Especially as rare vinyl is being seen more and more as an investment, minty 45's don't seem to come onto the market very often. They're in collections.

I was looking very sharp when I walked in the other week. Looked like a drowned rat when I walked out though.
-
The part about us all being fashion victims made me giggle. Has he ever been to a nighter.
-
Trouble is, i put a record up for £75 the other day because there seems to be a lot of them around. Sold it straight away. But then saw one for £100 a few days later and that sold straight away, so now I'm thinking, shit I should of tried a hundred quid first.

John Manship Auction Results 20 - 8 - 2014

On the other hand I would have paid that for the Saints. Thought it would go much higher, bet it would have if I had bid on it. -

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who helped me with advice and support yesterday. This forum is by far the best there is in this genre. Thanks to Mike for making it possible, and to you the members for making it what it is. I got my money back today, well, not all of it. I seem to be £75 out of pocket, but without this forum I don't think I would have got anything back. So it shows how powerful a tool this forum is. Long may it continue, and thanks again to all. Best regards, Phil.

I got back into collecting through buying the Goldmine Cd's. When I eventually got my hands on the original vinyl, I couldn't believe how much better they sounded. Some of the Cd tracks are even recorded at the wrong speed. When the digitally remastered Cd's came out I didn't like the sound at all. And when you play a stereo record, the drop in volume and power is huge. Give me mono vinyl every time.
-
I still got beaten anyway Nev.
-
I couldn't believe how much the last one on eBay went for. Sorry, it's just not for me mate.
-
I know Nev, there was something wrong with the listing. My bid wouldn't go on. I was in contact with the seller.

Now you see I hate Holly St. James, it's all about different tastes and opinions.

At last a kindred spirit. Best post ever.
-
Again, it's dance music. You need to hear it at an allnighter.
-
Come on, if you are going to start picking people up on grammatical errors we are going to be in for some blinding threads. If you must know I was on my phone and I struggle to even see the screen these days and my fat fingers don't help either. Anyway, I love the record, and I'm sure one went for £2k a couple of years ago.

Richard Sirling I believe, off John Anderson? Proper northern!

You've lost me there mate. It went for £1300 ($2170) and I bid £1198 ($2000) but as usual with eBay we have no idea what amount the winner actually put on it. Could have been £2K. I'm thinking of changing my eBay name to secondhighbidder, I was outbid on the Little Nicky Soul last night too.
-
Blimey, I can't win anything on eBay these days.
