  1. I thought all the Arctics with black print were second issues?
  2. Mr. Manship telling porkies? Surely not?
  3. Hurrah!!!!!!!!!
  4. Please click the link to view: LIST 637
  5. He said it was the backing track to the Stanley Evans test press. I have played the Pal and the Prophets, and it ain't nothing like that record.
  6. I just tried to look at the "best into of all time" thread. Complete waste of time there must be millions of embedded clips on there. Please stop embedding them. We all fookin know 'em anyway.
  7. Yes but he thinks nobody knows. pumpkinseed
  8. Just put the link up then Brian instead of embedding it. See post number 34.
  9. Was told by a mate that he once found a record by The Fantastic Johnny C entitled The Whip on Phil-la of soul. Now then I have searched high and low on t'internet, found the label listing on Soulful Kinda Music etc. etc. But nothing. There is a 45 called The Whip by Pal and the Prophets on the label, but it's not the same tune. So, is it a Jackanory job or does anyone know if it actually exists?
  10. Just copy and paste the address. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=linda+jones+just+can%27t+live+my+life
  11. I agree Kev, but just put a link to the record, don't embed them all.
  12. It's just being lazy. I like to hear the actual record that's for sale. The standard of grading is all over the place these days, and I'm only interested in buying vinyl that plays without background noise. And it's not just the sales section that suffers from the over use of YouTube clips. Some people on here will insist on sticking them in any thread, at the drop of a hat. Please note that you aren't the only person that has worked out how to use YouTube. Just write down the artist and title of the tune you want to inflict on us, and we will do the rest. Honest.
  13. Are you sure JM auctioned one, I can't find it on here?
  14. Thanks all, I thought it was more for some reason. I thought Tim had auctioned one and got over £600. I'll ring him tomorrow. Is it in demand?
  15. Joni Jones - I got to tell it - Free How much is this worth please?
  16. The trouble with Craig Charles is I remember him as he started out as a really irritating hippy scouse poet. Yuk! He plays far too much funk for my liking.
  17. Which records are you talking about? We were discussing whether it would be possible to produce them now rather than in the seventies. The world has moved on a hell of a lot since then.
  18. And if and when you get the record to look right, the hardest part, getting it to sound right.
  19. Being as though someone has resurrected this old thread I will add to it and state that, over the years I have purchased several boots/re issues of very rare records, so that I could record them for home use. Every one of them has been terrible sound quality, and I couldn't stand to listen to them. Not just vinyl either. After getting back into northern through the Cd's that were available late nineties. After listening to them for a couple of years and then getting some of the original vinyl. The difference was amazing, and not just in sound quality, but also the pitch. Just shows that a lot of those early Cd's must have been dubbed from vinyl or even tapes, and some probably off boots.
  20. Bootlegging boots. Third issue.
  21. Obsolutely right. You would have to limit yourself to producing just one copy of each record, otherwise suspicions would be raised and values would tumble overnight.
  22. Love "Hang On" hate the other side. Bloody rare record this, great price.
  23. Become a hot boxer, it's the future.
  24. I hope you like them John. I love them. If you have been using light carts you will need to screw the extra weights back onto the tone arm.
  25. Shall we do a poll, are you: A- a collector or B- a hot boxer Always been a hot boxer me, even in the seventies I don't think I ever owned more than 500 records. I once started to collect the Loma label, but I soon came to my senses when I heard some of the God awful songs on it.
