  1. Not sure what you mean old bean. Do you mean the turntable?
  2. You can see the label is stuck on. These are carvers definitely. No wonder the originals are going for silly money. You buy the original, record the audio, copy the labels. Get a few carvers done, stick the labels on, flog the original, flog the carvers. Get more carvers done......
  3. I wouldn't have thought that Jimmy Burns was that rare. I have had quite a few opportunities to buy it over the years, but never seen a New Wanderers.
  4. It's never worried any of the big Dj's before George. Kenny Burrell with Frank Wilson for example.
  5. We've been saying this for many years though Chris, yet there it is. Double what I thought it would go for. Anyone who can afford to pay these prices has to be seriously wealthy, or they are Dj'ing and must have the big hitters to the extent that they will do anything to have them. We call it "The Fever" I've had it myself and was buying records I couldn't really afford on credit cards and over draughts. I am a vinyl-holic.
  6. We say it every week. The worlds gone mad.
  7. Nobody said anything derogatory about the gentleman in the ad. I'm quite sure he and his family are lovely people. It's the fact that they feel the need to wear a uniform that says "look at us, we are into northern soul" you can still love the music without the need to wear badges and t shirts with black fists and other such motifs. You can't expect to appear on national television making a statement about a scene that is as emotive as this is, without getting some criticism. That's life I'm afraid.
  8. That's double what the last one went for. Incredible.

  10. Like I said earlier, the trousers aren't as bad as the flared skirts, ankle socks, ribbons and tattoos that the women wear. Where the hell did that look come from? And where do the flat caps come from? The only people who wore them in the seventies were our dads.
  11. That'll be "Snake and Vac" surely?
  12. On the clothes thing. The guys are bad enough, but to see fifty year old woman in flared skirts with ankle socks and covered in tattoos I find repulsive. I never went to Wigan, but I don't ever remember seeing lasses dressed like that in the seventies.
  13. Bobby Angelle, I can see everyone looking for copies as we speak. They'll be one on Manship's auction before long, and it'll be a grand. Why oh why the fancy dress?
  14. It's taken you a long time to get that off your chest mate. Back in 1977 you had to have the big tunes of the day to get people to dance.
  15. Backing track is superb, but I could write a better song over it than that. Sounds like she is just making it up as she goes along.
  16. That's blasphemy!
  17. You could try asking Ady Croasdale. Send him a PM he may be able to help. I used to play it before it was released on vinyl. I had it cut from the Cd. Fantastic tune.
  18. A few years ago that would have made me moist. Funny how time changes us.
  19. Oi Lee, NO! Everyone knows that the Velvet Hammer tune is pure class. The other thing isn't fit to share the same space. That is all. Happy Birthday by the way.
  20. I still think it should have been "show us your bird" A bit like readers wives.
  21. I used to deal with Bob in the early seventies, and can always remember him sending me a short list of wants and the Inspirations was one of them. I packed it in around 1976 and never heard the record until twenty years later on a Cd. That was the re recording, didn't hear the original until years later. I prefer the re recorded version, wouldn't mind a copy if anyone has a spare.
  22. Definately too slow.
  23. I know it's not soul but a friend asked me to try and get him a copy and it's obviously pretty rare, so any UK collectors that can help, I would be obliged.
  24. Try getting £7-800 for a Kenny Gamble with black text.
