  1. We have strayed off topic now, but people have been saying that record prices will tumble soon since Soul Sam were a lad. Yet they still keep going up and up. I'm just jealous that I haven't got that kind of money to spend.
  2. Is that better or worse than your "pants" grading Joan?
  3. God, I hope not mate.
  4. If it was a local hit though Marc, you can bet a lot will have been trashed.
  5. Sir Joe should be Sir Joke. three grand!
  6. I know it killed me to part with it, but it was the only thing that John would trade so I had no choice.
  7. I presume we are talking about Rita & Tiaras again mate?
  8. Bloody rare, and all the copies I have seen [3] have been in VG or worse condition.
  9. Not that I know of, but it has had several Cd releases.
  10. Sorry Beji, but it's one of the best allnighter records of all time. The atmosphere when played at a packed club in the early hours is something to behold. Fan friggin tastic. Just the first three notes would have everyone rushing for the dance floor. Shivers down the spine just remembering it.
  11. James played that Cavaliers track at Burnley many years ago. The place went mental. So much so he played it again. I know who got the acetate, but he may want to remain anonymous, so I'm not saying.
  12. Can I just buy the DVD's without all the other stuff?
  13. I was talking about Milton James mate.
  14. Not as much as you would think Neil. As I found out when I sold it twice.

The unreleased version is much better than the released one in my humble opinion. There was a couple of acetates about a few years ago. I think Alex Jones used to have one. The released version goes a bit mental half way through if I remember rightly?
  16. I was never that keen on the BC version, But the Jesse Henderson version just does it for me, and I have no idea why. It's very 80's which I normally hate, but it's got that special "something" that can't be explained. I remember Richard Searling playing it on his old radio show. Edit. It's too long by 5 minutes though.
  17. His goal was every "soul" record actually. Tim likes all genres not just northern.
  18. I think JM is losing his touch, no comments this week.

What's the condition of the Chaumonts please mate?
  20. I believe JM used a lot of record scans from his auction items. I also heard that he borrowed records from some big collectors to get scans etc. I know for certain that the scans of Paris and Sandy Wynn's on Doc were taken off my 45's that JM auctioned for me years ago. As for "Arthur Willis & The Soulful Dynamics" it's been a big spin for Butch for many years now. Very few copies have ever turned up. It's one of those 45's that grows on you, it's not instant, but I love it and it sounds fantastic played out. I have a rough sound file somewhere. If I can find it I will send it to you.
  21. It was all part of the mystique surrounding the whole scene. Absolutely magical. It's all too easy now. It sometimes took you years to find out what a track was. It would take a couple of clicks of a mouse now.
  22. I just put them in a 100 box and add some cardboard to pack it out. Never had more than 500 at one time in my life. I have never been able to afford to keep my records. Always been skint.
