  1. Sorry Don't know your name, but you are absolutely right, he has some fantastic stuff, and he knows most of us can't resist. Thats how he can treat us like shit and get away with it. Phil.
  2. Thanks Christian, Mark and Chalky, I asked Butch last night, and he agreed with Christians value of £500-£700. Been offered one but can't really afford that much. Anyone else interested in it? let me know and I'll put you in touch with the seller, minty anole. Best Regards, Phil.
  3. Just following on from reading Derek's ebay warning, I am having a big problem with a record dealer from the states. Now I was once burned before, by a guy in the uk, who had dodgy feedback, so I always check the feedback before bidding on an item, since then. My problem now is that this guy is a very well known dealer with huge feedback, and all positive. Also, the record in question was listed and didn't make it's reserve. So I contacted him and came to a deal, after the auction ended. No problem, the said 45 duly arrived well packaged, great. On inspecting and playing the record I was less than impressed with his grading, and to be honest no pleasure from litening to it, so poor is the sound quallity. So, I sent the record back the same day, and sent an email explaining why I had sent the record back, and please could I have a refund. To cut a long story short the guy was not happy. Talked to me like I was a piece of s**t, and how dare I call his grading into question. No way is he going to refund me. So I says I'll put his name up on here, and warne you all. Don't care a stuff said he. I'm a top dealer and you won't affect me one jot. So now I'm stuck with a knackered record, and I can't even leave him bad feedback. Is there anyway I can get my money back? I would apreciate any advise you could give. I did pay by paypal. Now this is my main point. The majority of dealers are sound, and get the goods to you no problem. They are all very nice and friendly when you are sending them hundreds of dollars. BUT, if you arn't happy with the goods they suddenly turn very ugly indeed. I've had trouble many times trying to get a refund. So now before I bid I look to see their returns policy. And if they don't do refunds, I don't bid. Oh, you want to know the dodgy dealers name? FRED SHERMAN trades under the name of RED-TOP out of Philadelphia.
  4. ANYONE KNOW THE VALUE OF THIS 45 - RUFUS WOOD - BEFORE 2001 / GHETTOVILLE - ESPANOLA. Thanks in advance. Phil.
  5. Hello Jim, I sold up in 76 and dicovered the goldmine cds late 90s. Can't believe I missed all the best music, that was played, late wigan, stafford, mexborough, blackburn, scotland etc. I was totally oblivious to what was going on. Bugger I'm still playing catch up now, but love it. Best Regards, Phil.
  6. Hello Warren, I understand your problem with the bonnie brisker 45, it took me an age to find a good one. In fact everything on this label seems to be trashed. Mine is for sale by the way, I had it at £120, but would let it go for £100. No less, cos of the condition. Phil.
  7. What you have to remember is that this record was HUGE in the early 70s when we were oh so young. That was a different age. Many of the records played then sound very twee when heard now. But believe me, when you heard SITS blasted out in a club back then, it sounded bloody awesome. In fact the intro still sounds fantastic. The scene has changed, and we have grown up, and the music has got more soulful and less franetic. Also, there are an awful lot of people collecting there old favourites, who do not go out now, and are totally unaware of the stuff being played today. And when they hear SITS, they hear it as they heard it in the 70s. I was off the scene for twenty years, and when I discovered that it was still going strong, all I wanted to do was hear the old faves again. Now I've bought them all, heard what was played while I was away, and sold them to buy the newer sounds. All the 45s that were in my top twenty wants when I returned, I am not interested in buying now. I'll wager that the person buying SITS does not go out now, but wants to recapture there youth. Thats ok. Because while they are buying oldies, I can have all my faves for myself. Phil.
  8. Hallo Steve, I pm'd you about possible swaps for INSPIRATIONS no answer, does that mean you arn't interested. Phil.
  9. Sorry Mike, But I can't understand the dig at my prices, if you think they are too dear then don't buy them. All Ken has done is put off any potential buyers. We all want to buy cheap 45s, and we all want as much as possible when we sell them. It's human nature, plus I have paid top dollar for them, they are from my colection and not sales. I have edited the w**ker. Sorry but I feel there was no need for Ken to make comments about my prices. Phil.
  10. Thanks Kenneth, I'm so grateful for your helpful comments and witty repartee. Why don't you go and help some other clueless soul sourcer's out, with your masterful knowlage.

  12. I'll have as many copies as you've got for that price mate. Have tried to buy this on ebay many times, goes for £200-£250 every time. Pat Brady wanted £300 for a copy Always thought the record was fantastic, still do. Great dancer. The problem is when you get a record of this quality, everybody wants it, and those that have it don't want to part with it. I may be wrong but I think that the mods are the ones that pay very high prices for this one. Phil.
  13. OH NO Thanks Joan and there's me thinking how lucky I was that you didn't post up any pics of me.
  14. Andy, You know I'm interested What would it take to secure the Mac Staten 45? Phil.
  15. PLEASE SOMEONE SELL ME- SWAP ME YOUR COPY OF MAC STATON & NOMADS- THERE SHE GOES - PRELUDE. I must own this record before I pass on Come on and make an old man happy. Phil. email me on Philsoul45@aol.com
  16. Hi Ted, I'm not a big fan of 70s but I've always thought the Eric Lomax c/u had the x factor that makes a great dancer. I would certainly buy it, and always get's me on the floor when played out. FANTASTIC Best Regards, Phil
