  2. Flippin eck Cookie, Blue Rock, bloody awfull styrene = terrible quality on most of the ones I've owned. As are Phillips, Mercury etc. Best must be Brunswick, RCA, DECCA, AMAZING QUALITY for 60s 45s
  3. No, but these two sound very ghetto, sparse productions. But both are FAN F**KING TASTIC and I need to own them now PLEASE !!!! EXECUTIVE FOUR - I GOT A GOOD THING GOING - LU MAR ANTHONY & DELSONICS - EVERYTIME - EMERGE
  4. Rich, I said that same thing, way back in the thread mate. Great minds think alike me thinks. Best, Phil.
  5. He's been to the states many times over the years. He's made contacts from the industry, and I believe he has been buying vinyl heavily since the early 70s, when they were dirt cheap. Many of the one off's that he has, he's had for many years. Even his cover up's from 20 years ago, that have been uncovered, are still dog rare i.e. Mellow Souls, Mac Statten, Stormy Winters etc. The man has put the time, effort and money in, and if you haven't heard him, I would recomend you do. You don't get to be No.1 over night, and Butch is number one. No doubt about it.
  6. The worst of the Magnetics 45s I.M.H.O. the best to me is" I HAVE A GIRL " also like the LEE McKINNEY & MAGNETICS - I'LL KEEP HOLDING ON - SABLE think this must be dog rare though, as I've never heard it played out. Was told Kitch had a copy? Would love to hear it out, I'll ask Dickie Watt if he has it. What about you Ted? have you got it? LADY IN GREEN - rarity over quality me thinks.
  7. ????????????????????????
  8. Include me in that total dance floor viagra for me. Get's me up everytime And what about that MIGHTY MARVELLOS C/U that he plays? Phil.
  9. Personally wouldn't give £10 for it. Very ordinary, and now it seems, very common too.
  10. Hi Marc, The answer to your question is £2590 The other side is the best i.m.h.o. p.s. heard from Butch, that he was well impressed by the stuff you and your mate were playing, when he was over there. Some great tunes that he had never heard before. High praise indeed. If you're ever over here, give me a shout. Come and do a spot at my night, Soul Salvation. Best Regards, Phil.
  11. AHHH I knew there would be a snag. Not rich I'm afraid, got a great box of tunes though.
  12. Thank goodness for that, I didn't fancy having 12inches removed from my legs, or wearing a blonde wig. There's got to be a snag though, I bet you live darn sarf don't you?
  13. It would involve very major surgery, but hey, if you want me to be a five foot blonde, I'll give it a go.
  14. MY GOD, you ARE the femail me. we were made for each other.
  15. I'll take that as a no then shall I ?
  16. Soulgirl, you never gave me an answer to my marriage proposal, [see post above] Phil.
  17. It always makes me laugh when we talk about how rare a record is. How does anybody know?? Just because[excuse the pun] there were a few copies for sale 20 years ago, doesn't mean there's thousands of them out there. If it wasn't for the internet, nobody would see the copies for sale. And even if it isn't rare, demand obviously outstrips supply, and so the price goes up. That's life I'm afraid. If there were loads of copies about nobody would pay £500 for it. If you want something badly enough, you'll pay the price. Another reason for these price rises, is in the 80s, ther were only a few collectors. Today rare soul collecting is massive worldwide, thousands of collectors chasing the same titles. My mate tells me stories of the scene in the 80s, very few events, attended by the same hard core. Big ticket 45s for sale at nighters, some that didn't sell for months. Go to most events now and you never see heavy weight 45s for sale. Most boxes are just the same old Pye Disco Demands, and cheap box fillers. I actually think that most of the big collectors don't actually go out anymore. Sorry to go off on one, but I just don't know how anyone can possibly know how rare a record is, or isn't. Phil

    Mp3 Wants

Anyboby got a 7" vinyl thingy of this for my old fashioned turntable pod? THE APPOINTMENTS "I SAW YOU THERE" DE-LITE Cash Waiting. Many Thanks, Phil.
  19. £500 actually
  20. Didn't do anything for me Nik Just very ordinary I.M.H.O. Phil.
  21. Soulgirl, Are you married? Cos if not I'd like to propose. I've agreed with all your comments and you are definately my kind of girl. I tell everyone that I'm not into modern. But as you said, there are a handfull of 70s records that are superb. Problem is they are dog rare and worth four figures, and the only DJs that have them all and can therefore do a good spot, are the Butch's, Mick H's, Soul Sams etc. What I'm saying is, that in my humble opinion, there aren't enough quality 70s tracks to make it worth while. I've gone to venues for years now, trying to find somewhere that plays quality, rare upfront 60s soul, from start to finnish. If I'm going to get sweaty dancing, then I don't want to be stood about shivering, waiting for another record that moves me. I've still not found one, though the Lifeline allnighters were by far the best. I was going to jack it in, disallusioned. But I've started my own night, and have a strict music policy. No spots for favours here. Only DJs that have the records, and that are ENTHUSIASTIC! and that actually dance to the music. Across the board music policy is ok, if you can get Butch to be a resident. I go out to hear music that makes me want to dance. You can listen to what you like at home, but don't expect me to spend my money and time listening to it.
  22. That wouldn't be YOUR home by any chance would it Chalky?
  23. Sorry Billy, must agree with Christian and Ted. Mate of mine has a mint copy of Jimmy Burns for sale or swap for other heavyweight item / items. He wants £3500 for it. Out of my league I'm afraid  Phil.
  24. Had any luck with that Frankie & the Damons track Billy? Fcuking fantastic, would like one myself. I bet Ted's got one. Phil.
