  1. HURRAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  2. Hi Andy, I agree entirely with what you say, and I'm trying to create such a venue myself. Hard going at the moment, but hopefully getting more of the faithfull to come and participate, through word of mouth / reccomendation. Don't know where you live, but if you fancy a trip to Soul Salvation @ Burnley Cricket Club, I would be interested to hear your comments on what I'm trying to achieve. Next one is Sat. Jan 14th and is just 5 minutes from the M65. Best Regards, Phil.
  3. WOW a couple of bargains there. Elbie Parker & Ellusions mucho cheapo.
  4. Sorry Brett, I was actually talking about the mini disc unit in my hi-fi system. I don't know about the portable ones. Are they as good or as easy to use? I don't know. Certainly worth a try though. I just turn my hi-fi on and stick in a disc, then play my collection of 45s.You can even stick it on radom play, so you never know what's comming on next. Awesome. Phil.
  5. I'd just like to make a case for the MINI DISC Don't panic, I am a vinyl man through and through. But if you are a vinyl collector, the mini disc is something you should consider bying. Let me explain. Whenever I get a new piece of vinyl I put it staight onto a mini disc, and that's it. I only play my vinyl when I'm doing a spot somewhere. All my vinyl is on mini disc, and to me, and all other owners of mini discs that I've spoken to, they sound much better than cd. AND, the process of recording seems to clean up any background from the vinyl. Unlike cd's, mini discs can be wiped clean, instantly. or individual tracks moved, or removed at will. Mini discs really are the dogs doo dahs, and I can't understand why they never took off. Even the discs themselves are far nicer to handle than those horrible cd's. And they are so small to cary arround. Mini discs are the best thing since cassette tapes, and far superior to any other medium, except vinyl of course. Can't recomend them highly enough. I couldn't live without mine. One of the worlds best kept secrets.
  6. Deffo on an L.P. Can't remember title though. Would have thought 4 tops first as it is a jobette tune.
  7. Has anyone got an enigma machine that I could borrow please.
  8. Now that is a good idea for a thread Steve. Would you attend a venue that had no alcohol??? I certainly would, as long as the music was quallity. Just like the old days.
  9. Sold my Monique a while back. Would love a Caressors, but have been told it'll cost me a grand nowadays. Phil.
  10. That must be the rare one, I've not seen that design before. All the ones I've seen, have been pale blue with just "r" at the top.
  11. I prefer the La Reine LaMar, but, I wouldn't be supprised if the artists were one and the same. Anyone know? I also think the cloud one is rairer, seen loads of the other, possibly from the "big find" again.
  12. Got a LEVON & HAWKS issue £120. Gonna go big I think, been played covered up at Soul Salvation and has gone down a storm. Best, Phil.
  13. Yes, there are too many venues. Too many venues and not enough punters = some will not survive. I just hope that mine isn't one of them.
  14. But if it was a total ban of smoking in public places,[which it should be] you wouldn't have a choice. Well you would, go out, or stay at home and smoke.
  15. I've just put a demo up in the sales for £300, no takers though.
  16. Sorry Steve, but personally, I can't wait for a ban on smoking in all public places. The fact is that if this government weren't such a set of spineless t***ers, it would already be in place. Bring it on. cough, cough.
  17. The Saints - I'll Let You Slide - Wigwam Totally Awesome, please sell it to me. Phil.

  19. Sorry mate no offence meant with the post.
  20. Hi Pete, O.K. here goes. When I click on the sound file, a blank page comes up, and an aol media player comes up in the bottom left of the screen. Just like it does when it's gonna play. Then a grey box comes up centre, from aol, saying this file is not supported by aol media player. Then that's it, nothing. Best Phil.
  21. Dave, I know you are right in what you say, because John has sold records for me on his auction, and, has achieved top prices for them. But I've also bought from the auction, and when I rang to pay, I have asked about trades. The girl then checks to see if the item won is a customers or Johns. He will trade on his own stuff but not for cutomers records. Obviously, he has to pay them, so cash only. So some of the auction items are his, believe me. Best, Phil.
  22. Hi Pete, Have you any idea why I can't listen to any of the sound files posted on here. I've only got real player. Do I need some other softwear? [is that the right term?] sorry I ain't that clued up p.c. wise. Bloody frustrating when you can't hear them though. Best Regards, Phil.
  23. Don't be so sure Derek, John is far more savy than those yanks who flood the market. He sneaks them out now and again. Last I heard at £2000 a time. Great record though, I agree. Best Phil.
  24. Just noticed this on Johns auction site, again. Me thinks he must have quantity from the west coast big hit. Seems like an awfull lot of minters around. My mate bought one off him a while back, had a lump in the vinyl, so he sends it back. Guess what, John replaces it with a minter. MMMMMMM. Can't be that rare then, can it. Same goes for Troy Dodds - mint issues everywhere. What do you think.
