  1. I quite like it but it's nearly imposible to dance to.
  2. Mmmm, not a patch on this i.m.h.o. www.freewebs.com/soul45s/
  3. HA HA HA ! Fantastic post, cheered me up no end.
  4. Thanks Mike, you're a gent, I'll inform Paul. Phil.
  5. No mate, not on commission, but he has put some of my 45s on there for me. And I couldn't find my original post to reactivate it.
  6. I maintain a box soley for dj'ing, but it's quallity over quantity for me now. And the box just get's smaller, as everything that I hear and must have, seems to be £1000 + I always did have expensive taste, so I have to sell, in order to buy. You can only play about 24 records in a spot. So I can't see the point of dragging 500 around with you. Besides, I like to keep changing em, keeps the spot fresh. Just bought an 80 box, but it only holds around 60. There was so much packing in the old box it looked silly when open. This will probably do me for my entire collection, unless I win the lottery, and can afford to actually keep some. I am going to be stuffed if there is a big drop in prices though.
  7. Just had a look at Paul Harris's new web site. For all things rare soul vinyl, sales, news etc. Have a look at www.freewebs.com/soul45s/ and stick it in your fav's. I can't wait for the venue reviews. Phil.
  8. Think you've misunderstood my point mate. I love the record, but don't want to pay over a grand for one, only to find that it's turned up in quantity. I'd rather wait in that case for the price to drop. And, there are also many rare items that I don't like, so, no need to take offence at a perfectly reasonable question. I just don't want to get burned, "again" that's all. Phil.
  9. Had a copy in my sales box for eons, just could not sell it. Swaped it to my mate last week, he swaped it to Pat Brady. It's on his auction now. There has been 2 copies on ebay not long ago, both went VERY cheap, not much interest. Heard it played out recently, may have been James Trouble. Suddenly everyone sems to want it. Have a look on Pat's site, can't see it making a big price on the auction, but you never know. Good look anyway. Phil.
  10. Just thought I'd let all you vinyl junkies know, that my good friend Mr. Paul Harris, has got his new web site up and running. I'm sure you will find it interesting, informative, and maybe find that elusive want that you've been searching years for. www.freewebs.com/soul45s/ Phil.
  11. Just wondered. Saw that Pete Smith was offering a copy on here, then I got a list off Ian Clarke, he's got one, and now there's one on ebay. Just a coincedence ? I thought that it was dog rare. I was thinking of buying one, but not so sure now. Anyone know anything ? Phil.
  12. There's a guy in the states selling them on ebay. Can't remember who now, but I bought some copies off him a couple of years ago. He recond they were a limited press and he even had some on red vinyl. The sound quality was very poor I thought, but the flip is really nice. I sold them on as they seemed to be everywhere, and as I said before the sound quality was poor. I think it was released on an aniversary 45 also can't remember the venue.
  13. Hi Dave, I think Kev Murphy has an issue. Phil.
  14. FANTASTIC
  15. I didn't think anything to it when I heard it, but if Chris says it's a grower, then that would explain why it sems to be so highly rated. I must admit it did sound better loud when somebody played it at lifeline last Saturday. So I'd better reserve judgement on it until I've heard it a few more times. Phil.
  16. This is one of those records that sounds crap when played at home, but blasted out in a club, FANTASTIC. I had 2 copies in my sales box for yonks and never had a sniff. Then somebody played it at Bury town hall, and I sold them both instantly. Two guys who had looked through my box many times. mmmmmmm.
  17. Hi Steve, I just have a small amount of 45s now, and constantly have to sell to buy. Try to keep my spot quality, but quality costs big time these days. In fact I've just pulled a load out to sell, got my eye on 3 big ticket items that I just have to have. Also my credit cards have taken a right battering. Haven't a clue how I'm going to pay them off, ever. And I'm not joking Phil.
  18. Yes, I've been getting them off Guy for groovy grooves. I don't mind the texts on my mobile, In fact I've copied the idea and sent them out for my Soul Salvation nights. It's actually a brilliant idea and has deffo worked for me. The voice messages however should be stopped as they are a real pain in the arse, and I'll be telling Guy so when I see him. Phil.
  19. I'm always worried that I'll get too carried away and fall down them steps.
  20. Blimey, I always thought that the Nags Head was in Peckham. The dance floor at my do [ Burnley Cricket Club ] is excellent and doesn't need talc. And if you don't believe me, come and have a go if you think your up to it. [ blatent plug ] Phil.
  21. Carol McCarthy end of discussion. But I think that today, the girls are better dancers, because they are much fitter than us blokes.

    Few Sales

Hi Chalky, Think you are right, mines a demo with CAN in the title, never seen an issue. Personally I love the record and play it in my set a lot. Goes down well, very rarely see it for sale. Phil.
  23. Where's the scan gone?
  24. My comments were not made to a post by you, and they were light hearted. Yours on the other hand were not. I made a comment, based on an opinion of something that I have heard many times. You made a comment about a night that you have never attended. If you can't be civil in your opinions you should not be on here. And you have just contradicted yourself there. YOU must have cared less or you would not have replied to my post. Phil.
